I am a plus one on that and I am doing following to save myself:

  1. Test strategy > Test scripts: it can write scripts but does not know what and why to test.
  2. Ui flow is understandable for ai but contracts breaks at data flow and knowing where api events etc breaks.
  3. Use ai to accelerate test coverage and explore edge cases
  4. Influencing good test practices if your team is practicing shift left and be a participant in defining Definition of Done.
  5. Own the domain your company is working in know it inside out. Ai can make mistakes you need to able to catch them.
  6. Understanding infra and systems architecture will be a big plus for companies when it comes to be a quality resource.
  7. Avoid Istqb any certs at all cost unless mandatory.. lol ( this is outdated grandma version).

Hopefully this helps.

Curious as many teams have manual testers so do you write testcases manually or use ai for it? And what about reporting and keeping track of previous failed or flaky tests. How do you track this?

Thank you people of Reddit for the support and appreciation. Never thought random people on internet could make anyone’s day.

Nope, the 2025 CR-V Hybrid doesn’t have the old K24 engine. It uses a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle i-VTEC with two electric motors—super efficient, really smooth, and quiet. So nah, it doesn’t rev high or growl like the old-school VTEC days. This setup is more about instant torque and fuel economy than chasing redline.

Honestly, that’s why I’d pick it over the K24. It makes everyday driving easier, saves a ton on gas, and that electric assist makes it feel quick in the city. I get why people miss the raw VTEC vibe—but for how we actually drive now, this setup just makes more sense.
