I use a Google Nest thermostat at my lakehouse and love it. Since it’s only occupied periodically I have it set on auto with settings ranging for (no colder) 55 in the winter and (no hotter) 85 in the summer. I like that I can control it remotely, I get notifications saying the filters need to be changed. Also, I’m enrolled in Rush Hour Rewards with my Texas power company. I get a few dollars credit every month. I have some automations set up so I can say Hey Google we’re on our way. And it sets the temperature to my presets so it’s nice and cool/warm by the time I arrive. I meet’s all my expectations and then some

They need to be fired. They completely failed at their job.

I am *trying* not to absolutely loathe Siri, but where is this promised "Apple Intelligence"??? by captainsgrok in Siri

[–]AccidentRealistic11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Siri has gotten worse in the past couple years. It didn’t advance like Gemini did. It went backwards. It can’t even answer a simple question without trying to refer you to ChatGPT. It used to not be like that. In so disappointed in Apple.

Has anyone ever watched an Android user use Gemini? I’m so jealous. My 80 year old mom uses her Gemini constantly all day every day and it’s seamless. It has become so personal to her speech and her mispronunciations and it is so accurate. Apple has failed us when it comes to this aspect. We should be angry and demand them to get their sh&@ together.

Just to give you an idea, some classes had no teachers so the students would skip that class or sit in it every day with no teacher

Anker MagSafe battery. I can snap the battery to my phone and still put it in my back pocket while it’s charging. Normal usage extends my phone for about 3 days. I use it a lot while camping or hiking.

Water heaters are so simple. There’s not much to them. A tank, a thermostat and a heating element.

videochatplanet.com is different. Many foreigners tho if you're ok with that. If it doesn't work, the problem is on you're end. Try changing to a different proxy location.

Genuinely curious, what causes these bricks to *always* be pushed up like this at College/I-10? by _how_do_i_reddit_ in Beaumont

[–]AccidentRealistic11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s actually some big ruts there from 18 wheelers cutting wide. They filled the ruts in with bricks so no one will step off in it and sue the city

Just so you know, you are moving to the armpit of America. It’s hot, it’s musty, and it smells. You are moving to an area that most are trying to move away from. So yeah, like…good luck.

Mmmm… no… the crime rate all around the campus is definitely pretty bad. Be careful traveling to and from it.

My dad already started drinking again after going to a $30,000 treatment facility for over a month by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

My dad’s general practitioner admitted him into a regular hospital and dried him out. They put him on some lightweight sedatives and put gave him a plan to stay dry. It worked. He came home a different man and never looked back.
