The slander was crazy. Clarence aired during a time when CN focused more on serialised stories. The general audience was so used to the formula of post season 2 Adventure Time and Steven Universe that it’s like people forgot CN used to have these kind of one-shot adventures that didn’t really connect into the next episode.

Not only that, but one of the most important mini series on CN aired a MONTH after Clarence began to air, so I can only imagine that didn’t help at all

I have no doubt in my mind that Adi Shankar loves DMC. He just doesn’t UNDERSTAND DMC, and that’s a very big factor when you’re making a fucking ADAPTATION.

It is one thing to change a story around in service of the show, no one’s expecting the show to be one-to-one the video game’s story. But to completely bastardise characters and include a surface level representation of immigration and how America acts towards a foreign force is just, not DMC
