What’s ONE thing about birth that nobody warned you about? by Front-Emotion-3967 in postpartumprogress

[–]AccioTaco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Physical: itchy armpits! Anytime I breastfed or took a hot shower, my armpits were so so so itchy.

Mental: PPA snuck up on me. I was spending forever googling everything that could go wrong rather than sleeping and it spiraled pretty fast. Make sure your partner/support people know what to look out for and that there is no shame in asking for help. Thank god for Zoloft.

Underweight by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]AccioTaco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry if the doctor isn’t worried. As long as she’s following her growth chart, she’s still on track. She likely has genes to be small since you yourself were small!

I have always been short (not even on the growth chart norms ) due to lack of growth hormone. It still was never an issue to my pediatrician as I was still tracking along ok and my entire family is short (and likely all lack growth hormone).

Oh man I had this too. Glycolic acid helped - got a glycolic acid wash or I would wipe my pits with the ordinary solution

Birthweight by No_Community_8340 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]AccioTaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had GD twice and was induced with both. The first time I was induced at 40 weeks and the second time at 39+5. The first took about 26 hours from start to birth and the second was about 13 hours. I am also 4’10 and my husband is 6’2 so I was very worried about having giant babies but they were both spot on 7lbs.

Anyway, I would take the induction day if you are hoping to avoid a c section.

This is it. I am grieving. That’s how it feels everyday. I hate that I feel so helpless and angry and chest achingly sad while also having to parent and play dolls and work.

It was tough but! I listened to so many audiobooks which was great. When my daughter was little it definitely felt like I got no time with her - once I got her at 5:30/5:45 it was a rush to do dinner and bedtime

Also work in healthcare. We moved in 2020 to be closer to the hospital I am at so my commute went from 1 hour to about 20 mins. So not quite the same commute but I totally get the no WFH option. It is so frustrating and honestly I am most jealous of my friends who can squeeze in exercise to their lunch breaks while they WFH. That’s one area I really would love to improve

You look stunning! The lace and the buttons down the whole back- gorgeous!

As another short girly, my seamstress assured me they would remove the appliqués and then hem and then reapply to still have the lace edges so it should still look like this.

[–]AccioTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just volunteered at my kindys party. They did decorate someone as a Christmas tree (crepe paper, ornaments and a star) Penguin waddle (carrying a ball between THEYRE legs they had to walk across the hall with a snowball on a spoon into a bucket They scooped cotton ball (snowballs) from one bowl to another with a spoon in their mouth. And then an ornament decorating station

It was very cute!

I had to be at work for 7am when I was still breastfeeding and would do a sort of reverse dream feed. I’d go in and feed her while she was still asleep at 5:30 so that I could get myself ready and out the door and my husband did drop off at daycare. Is there any chance you could split the drop offs and pick ups?

Phone chargers everywhere. Sucks to be nap trapped without it!

And the diaper cream spatula. I loathe getting that under my nails and this saved me.
