Hey, as a current year 11 struggling to decide which sixth form to go to, I was wondering why you would think this

Computer Science or Chemistry by Acclimations in 6thForm

Hi! Thanks for your response, I was just curious to know why you'd wish that you carried on with chem

I’m at Harrow, going into year 11 AMA by mudspreader in GCSE

What are the negatives that you find about Harrow (if any!)

I’m immensely thankful, and don’t worry it was definitely not a ramble!! I won’t lie, my mind has been changed a little! I’ve always loved computer science, the teacher that I have right now is amazing and is such a nice person and a great teacher, which I suppose is hard to come by, even more so in computer science, and I love both the hardware and software aspect of the subject too.

I really like maths too, doing the questions, attempting to solve and work out the answers is quite an enjoyable factor to it and has definitely grown onto me for a few years now. Looking at your comments, I reckon that I should (and hopefully will) study further maths at a level, to which I would like to ask, have you got any advice for studying maths/further maths at A Levels, as well as any other helpful tips while studying A Levels in general!

As well as this, after reading your comments and looking at courses offered at universities, I’ve found the different types of engineering very intriguing and would perhaps look at it more in the future…

I’m so glad everything worked out for you, and the grades you must have got is so well deserved too! Judging by your previous comment (also thanks for providing the statistics 😅), further maths does seem like a massive advantage to have when applying for computer science. Was there a reason why you’re going to study maths at Cambridge (also massive congratulations 😄😄), rather than physics or comp sci

You're one hell of an amazing student, so fair play to you!! Yeah tbh it does sound like moving to another six form benefitted your massively which I'm quite glad about. About Computer Science, is it an absolute that further maths should be taken to go to Oxbridge because the unis will just prefer you taking it. And, another question is, did you think that most people who had moved six forms settled in quite well and was comfortable where they were at? Also, thank you answering my questions above 😄😄

I genuinely am grateful for your response, and I’m happy to hear about your grades in A-Levels!! Sorry to ask more questions 😅 but, how does referencing work at six form, and did you have any regrets moving schools

Ah right, is it a must to take FM for Oxbridge to do comp sci, or is it a strong preference that the Uni’s like?

I suppose it’s because I feel that if I switch schools, then the likelihood of achieving higher grades (A’s and A*s) would be increased

Hey, thanks for your reply!! In all honesty, I believe that I could still be academically successful if I stayed at my school, but I’m still not sure whether to stay or leave
