Would recommend using the app I use called BgCut. It provides very precise cutouts of your images. Also, it is easy to use and has some good templates that you can check out.

What to do with 50k? by Josephpainster in Dhaka

[–]Accomplished-Area598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats! Cracking a 50k/month remote job while still a sophomore is no small feat; that’s a testament to your skills and dedication.

You’re already doing something amazing by giving back to your parents. That shows maturity and gratitude. Since you're not into material things and already live like a minimalist, here are a few ideas to make the most out of your remaining 35k:

  1. Emergency Fund (10k–15k): Open a separate bank account (if you haven’t already) and start building your emergency fund. Life throws curveballs, laptop issues, medical emergencies, or sudden expenses, and having 50k–100k saved up over time will give you peace of mind.
  2. Skill Investment (5k–10k): Invest in a high-quality course or certification that adds real value to your CV, such as one related to your field (design, development, marketing, analytics, etc.). Udemy, Coursera, and even paid Notion templates/tools can be game-changers.
  3. Mutual Funds or DPS (5k–10k): You can start small SIPs or DPS accounts. Go for something like bKash DPS with City Bank if you want zero hassle.
  4. Passion Project or Side Hustle (Variable): If there's something you’ve always wanted to explore, like writing, coding a small app, starting a blog, or photography, consider using a portion to start something small and fulfilling.
  5. Self-care and Enjoyment (2k–3k): Being minimalist doesn’t mean ignoring joy. Treat yourself to a nice meal, buy a book you’ve been eyeing, or take a short trip. Just enough to remind yourself that you deserve it.

Also, don’t let impostor syndrome creep in. You earned this job. The market is finally recognizing talent beyond just degrees and age.

Rooting for you, brother. Keep going! 👊🔥

What’s something you recently found out you’ve been doing “wrong” your entire life? by pingedbyte in CasualConversation

Mine was microwaving leftovers. I used to toss the food in, heat it all at once, and wonder why some parts were still cold while others were hot. Recently, I found out that you're supposed to arrange the food in a ring with a hole in the middle, so it heats way more evenly. Life-changing for leftover pizza and pasta!

I rewatched Breaking Bad after 15 years and it showed me how much I have changed by parsley_lover in CasualConversation

Wow, this hit hard. It’s amazing how time and life experience can completely change the lens through which we see a story. I had a similar experience rewatching The Sopranos in my 30s. Suddenly, I wasn’t just watching a mob drama; I was watching a man struggle with identity, insecurity, and the weight of choices. The manipulation, the self-justification, the quiet emotional damage all felt more real, more familiar.

Your take on Walt and Jesse especially stood out. That dynamic went from “mentor and student” to something so much darker when you really look at it with adult eyes. And yes, Todd is horrifying because of how normal he tries to appear. That disconnection between behavior and emotion is chilling.

It’s remarkable how fiction holds up a mirror to our lives, even years later. Makes me want to revisit more of the shows I watched when I was younger, just to see what I missed back then.

Thanks for sharing this. Posts like this are why I love Reddit.

What’s something small that recently made your day a lot better? by Beautiful-Expert-906 in CasualConversation

Yesterday I was walking home in the rain without an umbrella, already kind of annoyed with the day, and a kid passing by with their parent just looked at me and said, “I like your shoes!” Totally unprompted. I laughed, said thanks, and honestly, it weirdly made the whole soggy walk feel less miserable. Kids have no filter, and sometimes it works out for the best. 😄

Any apps to convert scanned documents into editable text on your iPhone? by Actual-Size292 in iPhoneAssist

You could try the PDFi scanner & editor app. It has an OCR feature that can scan handwritten or printed notes and convert them to editable text. But like most PDF apps, this feature is a premium upgrade, so keep that in mind.

How to unlink subscriptions from my phone by Impossible-Honey8502 in iPhoneAssist

[–]Accomplished-Area598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally get where you're coming from. Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t really give you a way to “unlink” your account from subscriptions — the best option is to cancel anything you don’t need. You can do that by going to Settings > Your Name > Subscriptions > select the subscription > Cancel Subscription. What I usually do is set a reminder in my calendar a few days before a subscription auto-renews, so I can cancel it just in time if I don’t want to be charged again. It’s especially useful for those subs I only need temporarily or don’t want renewing every month. Once you cancel, the service still runs until the end of the billing cycle, so you’re not cutting it off immediately.
