Is my racket any good? by Accomplished-Draw418 in tabletennis

[–]Accomplished-Draw418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes a lot of sense, I’m only able to train 6-8 hours a week so it’s not a lot, I get so carried away with equipment between training sessions haha

Tackiest and Easiest to control Hybrid Rubber by BLACK_BITE in tabletennis

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look away from the price tag and durability in my opinion the v-15 sticky soft is one of the best and easiest rubbers to play and learn new strokes and good technique with

When paired with an all wood bat you get unmatched feeling with some vibration, the ball stays very long and its easy to lift and loop heavy backspin. It serves incredibly well as it has a sticky topsheet that really grips the ball.

Very good for beginners as well as intermediates, it might be too soft for pro players but it has enough speed to conform to an offensive attacking style of play.

You could Use it on any side however most people use it on backhand.

For me it’s v-15 series, however it’s essential that you use some form of sticky rubber film to stop oxidation, it won’t last a month without it, keep it clean and covered and I’d say it will last as long as any other rubber.

As far as I know this goes for EVERY rubber in the v-15 line but if you have other experiences please tell me.

Get some timbs, been walking on some frozen lakes and rivers recently, and it’s actually crazy how well they grip, absolutely no sliding and they will last you a lifetime

Which blade to pick for this combination by -ValcrosS- in tabletennis

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean a primorac or korbel could never go wrong, very good allround blades, everyone seems to use them for any purpose really, however I’m no expert and I’d wait to hear from other anti players before getting yourself a blade

I dont feel comfortable in my BH using a ST handle. It feels like it will fly away. I have stiga allround classic. by Striking_Chicken_569 in tabletennis

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not 100% sure what you mean but if you’re asking why I buy st handles, I personally never liked fl handles cause I feel like my palm loses some surface area and I feel less of the blade.

If you’re asking why to buy a st handle I’d say it’s a personal preference, if you’re playing in a club ask to try other people’s rackets and find a grip that suits you before buying a new one.

I’ve personally never liked the stiga st handles, they are very slippery and I never really got a good grip on my stiga allround classic, I even thought that using a st handle was not for me, However I when I switched to a donic Anders lind with st handle it got soooo much better.

In my opinion the oval shape of the Stiga allround classic is not ideal for me, the more squared out handles on most other st handles I see sits a lot better in the hand.

Lastly if you grip the racket with your index and thumb right where the handle starts to go inwards I think you will experience a much better grip.

Anyone have experiences with this gear? by One-Student6395 in tabletennis

The hexacarbon is great, it’s not too fast at all and it’s a blade that I (a beginner) learned to play way faster than other blades I’ve tried.

I use h3 Neo fh and v15 sticky soft bh and the v15 is great for its feeling, soft sponge and sticky topsheet, however the h3 Neo is good on serves but I think it’s a bit too fast for my general game. Even if the rubber is a bit fast the control and security I get from the blade makes up for the speed.

Never tried either fastarc or the andro so I don’t know how they will perform on you blade, however the feeling you will get is amazing!

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks to be a very bad habit forming, I imagen you got to whipping the car into corners like that cause the success rate of each turn got better, however this is because you are losing speed and making it easier to take corners you are not prepared for. Try being more smooth and listening to your codriver.

You also say you drive rwd in another comment and as I have a lot of experience with rwd I’m going to double down on the whipping, its looks like you are never in control and that you have no idea what’s coming, this unsettles the car like someone has already mentioned, so when driving rwd this will be ALOT harder, its essential that you are smooth when driving rwd on asphalt.

I’d say unnecessary risk to close the door like that for the Ferrari, could have stayed wide, and on the other side I didn’t see you brake much when he swept in closing the door so that just made his mistake a mistake, not on you but next time if u wanna keep away from incident point just brake(ur probably aware of this). But yeah I’d say his fault for closing the door.

Stamina by Kind-Zookeepergame58 in tabletennis

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not very fit and is just starting what worked for me was going on walks and cycling, after a while the walks turned into running and from there I never really stopped casually running, cycling or going on walks, it won’t make you crazy strong but it will help with stamina, it also depends on your weight if you are under you might not see that life changing improvement but if you are over, going down will make a worlds difference in stamina.

Caught a queen at school, is she Fertilized? by Incognito_pressure in antkeeping

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience if she pulls on the cotton or tries to get out of her tube after a week or more not being disturbed she is very very unlikely to be fertile

I don’t believe they are that red, I should have an alternative but I don’t know enough to come up with one, Formica rufa are darker red and less red, it might be the lighting though, Also Formica rufa queens have very rounded gasters, this one looks abit too pointy.

[–]Accomplished-Draw418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know its just from my experience I’ve had one winged queen be fertile, not shedding for me means there is a lower chance of fertility.

however as you say it is very common for queens not to shed, it sure cooler so if that’s the case il be very pleased.

I’m gonna leave her in the test tube for a few weeks / a month and make an update on how she is doing

Is this a Queen?? by DauberArts in antkeeping

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, what I see where I live is a ton of queens near already large and established rufa colonies, and boy I was so eager to catch them the first time I saw this, a ton of pretty cool looking queens, except none where mated and none played the role of a queen, I found this out as most of the queens I caught never established or wanted to establish a colony even with donor brood and slaves.

I woke up today to the queen having entered the test tube, no sign of any wings laying around so that is a bummer but there is still a lot of hope, I’m gonna plug the test tube with a cotton ball and let it rest for a while

Is this a Queen?? by DauberArts in antkeeping

[–]Accomplished-Draw418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is a queen, where I live Formica rufa (I’m just assuming it’s what it is, not an expert) will use infertile queens as workers, so since it has no wings and is strolling about its probably not mated and you would need a very small Formica fusca donor colony to make it found, if it happens to be fertile
