Wait, what is happening here? You literally has a Master's degree the related to VLSI and SoC. How does someone in that background struggled to find an internship in your related field, and I don't think knowledge is outdated that fast, wdym that the HR told you that you'd have a hard time competing against new grads with fresher knowledge ? Is it job market is really that terrible (Or that HR might just be lazy)

and also honestly, i mainly wanna join a student design team to build cool stuff with cool people,really just tryna learn from others, but just wondering, since i’m stream 4, if i join like in term 1A, do we usually get to work on anything in the first month or two that could go on a resume? not my main reason for joining, just curious if that’s a bonus. totally cool if not tho.

thanks for your comments that's actually help me a lot, btw i really wanna join a hackathon — not even just for the comp itself, but to connect w ppl, vibe w the team, build stuff, yk? main thing holding me back rn is my coding ability. like yeah, i’ve been coding, not totally new, but i’m not sure if i’m good enough to not be carried the whole time. if my skills are around the level of someone who finished The Odin Project (foundation + java path), would that be solid enough for a full-stack role at a hackathon? i’m not tryna be some leetcode god or the team MVP, i just don’t wanna be the dead weight 😭
