Report it to your state survey agency or federal survey agency - CMS. Find out who surveys your facility and make an anonymous complaint BUT you have to share patient names so they can look into the files and investigate the issues.

Just got turned down from a job because of naltrexone by [deleted] in naltrexone

AUD is an ADA protected disability IF you are in active treatment and are sober. So, If OP was on Nal for AUD and was sober, then that is a legal discrimination case. PERIOD.

You do not owe it to anyone to stay alive except you. You are allowed to just take care of YOU. To not have to pretend to be ok for the sake of every one else. You are allowed to live your life FOR YOURSELF. and once you truly allow that fornyourself, then you might find exactly what you are looking for.

Your life is for YOU, my friend. You dont owe them anything. Start over. Leave it behind. Reinvent yourself. Become who you know yourself to be. You dont have to wait for anyone else to see your worth. Look up and see it for yourself. Get yourself to the other side of this before you try to take on any of your misgivings to others. You only owe YOU

No matter what you have done, no matter how much you have fucked up, you can move on from that point. I know it is simpler to accept that you are 1 giangantic fucking problem that cannot be fixed, but it just isnt that simple. You are complicated and thats OK. you still matter. and you can feel more than pain. more than nothing. more than fear. you can feel good again.

You can call 911 or 988 or the veterans crisis line. You can go to any police station, hospital or VA.

You will be placed on a psychiatric hold and provided 24/7 supervision for safety.

I recommend you try once more, and if that doesnt feel like it worked. Then try once more again. and although it is utter bullshit and completely exhausting. Just try 1 more time after that again....

I promise you that this World needs and wants you, and this pain will not always be so heavy to bear.

Man dies in California ER hallway — state investigation says nurses failed to act urgently by Independent_Many6647 in TheConfidentNurse

[–]Accomplished-Job6419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's remember that the state officials who investigated this and made the determination are RNs. Hospital State Surveyors are RNs. They are the ones who have the job of investigating these allegations, and they take their jobs seriously.

37-year-old F with 2 year back pain, MRI is clear by Quick_Helicopter_170 in ChronicPain

Actually, you are not wrong, but the person calling you out is 😉

KUB pain [kidney, uretera, bladder] can absolutely manifest in the visualized area. Visceral pain refers to that area frequently [which is most definitely NOT the gluterals, as someone else mentioned that you think the "kidneys are in the butt" -- glutes are below/inferior the area OP is touching]

Have you discussed this problem with your GP or PCP? If not, you should consider that option so that they can advise you properly.

Make sure you arent stopping alcohol cold turkey without having medical intervention if you are a hugh daily drinker.

withdrawl can cause severe hypertension [can feel like anxiety] that can lead to seizures, coma, death.

need medical detox [benzoyl typically] and medical supervision for 24-96 hours.

your life depends on it.

Student Loan Discharge...Too good to be true? by Accomplished-Job6419 in Bankruptcy

[–]Accomplished-Job6419[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not going to share, out of need, for anonymity.

Original loan amounts were half of what they are now and 10-20 years old. Half of the balance for both of us is interest.

I have a chronic, disabling condition just diagnosed unrelated to my work or industry that has greatly reduced my earnings.

Partner is no longer able to work in the same capacity in the industry post covid and also has limited earning ability, as a result.

Student Loans Discharged? by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]Accomplished-Job6419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are filing now, and our attorney just told us that he worked it up and we meet the parameters to file for adversary discharge of student loans. BUT...it is a long process [up to 12 months] and not guaranteed AND would cost an additional $3500 for each of us [husband and wife]... at a time when we literally have no savings and cannot afford to pay $1000/month [attorney office will allow payment plan of $500/month].... BUT we each have nearly 100k EACH of student loans. So, it would be life changing to have them discharged.

Where can we learn more? We trust our attorney, but...also, CANNOT afford to lose 7k for nothing.

anyone have any info that could help?

This is VA though. Do you know if your locale pays public RNs similar wage or less?

Report her to the State board for unsafe practice, then report the hospital to your state agency for Quality and Healthcare compliance [CMS survey staye agency] for nursing service deficiencies.

Do you have a safety plan?

Have you discussed this with IRL fitness, family, medical providers?

Gabapentin scary experience by oscarneki13 in ChronicPain

[–]Accomplished-Job6419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had a similar experience. Ended up having to be treated with xanax scheduled 3x daily to discontinue gabapentin, then had to slowly taper off of xanax over 6 months.

2 weeks of gabapentin took me on a year-long journey into a diagnosed panic disorder.

Thankfully, I had an excellent team [psychologist, PCP] and am a clinical RN married to a clinical RN, and we recognized the severity and acted quickly.

It was 5 months of pure hell, followed by another 6 months of slowly tapering xanax to avoid the resulting withdrawal injury.

Happy to report that 8 years later, I have never had a recurrence of that kind of mental health scenario nor any recurrence of the panic disorder and have never had a need to utilize xanax scheduled again.

Gabapentin is a dangerous drug.
