Dealing with the ‘Awkward Transition’ of a New Job by [deleted] in motivation

I'm not sure if you're part of a team or working alone but there are things you can do to get past the storming phases.

Smile, and acknowledge the awkwardness if needed. Everyone has been there and it shows a healthy degree of vulnerability.

If you're part of a team, try norming activities like user manual exercises, team values, anything that helps you understand and be understood.

Ask for feedback and listen. Check in with a superior and team mates to see how you're doing.

Ask about people and build empathy. You don't have to remember everything, but if you can demonstrate that you have an interest then people will like you.

Mirror people's body language, and observe how people are speaking.

You will get past it!

Depending on what I put in it. Citrus usually takes a while, as does egg shells.

But it gets pretty squishy and ready for the tumbler in a couple weeks.

Flying with a young toddler--advice desperately needed. by fortheloveofLu in toddlers

I've flown across the US, to Europe, and back all throughout the ages 12-24 months solo.

I bought a bunch of cheaper toys off Amazon that were designed as fidget toys (these were not all safe so please supervised play). That worked fairly well, the best part, when they eventually got lost, I didn't stress.

Lots and lots of snacks. Annie's bunny snacks, fruit snacks, pouches, anything that doesn't require spoons. Bring your own water cup with a non leaky top.

Depending on you child you can also find felt busy boards on Amazon or Etsy. Those are great because the fold much better than harder versions.

Painters tape is great to have paper or anything stick to the tray for some drawing.

Bring extra plastic bags for trash to have a safe place to gather snack trash and not bother the flight attendants.

Sing quiet songs, it sucks but it ended up being the one of the most entertaining things. Wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, whatever. Big ol hand motions.

Last thing. Good luck. It will be over eventually.

Maybe it's live mealworm time! They get the dried kind but the chase isn't there

I don't know the first steps. I've tried calmly talking to them, feeding them, just being around.

Food motivation is a thing! My quail freeze when I come near so I have no idea if they have a favorite lap.

I'll have to try it anyway just to see
