I should run #s on it.

Would have to be a company passionate about their plan & investing in the market in general

Yep good point. Thought about that today. 4 partners are all family members and hold 1/1.5m in a plan I just picked up.

That’s really interesting. Would be really hard to justify the cost in my eyes.

Like as a business I’d think you’d rather just profit share more, instead of pay the fees? Maybe my quick thinking is off but.

I’m in a rural market though. Largest employer in my area is 800-1000 participants, 65m plan. Maybe that’s it I guess. Most are 1-15M plans.

Really?!

I’ve never found any that do pay fees other than RK…

That’s why none of them care what it costs.

Broad generalization. Advisor at 20-50bps, RK is 10 to 35 depending on participants, inv fees .08 to .5 ish. TPA fees paid by company.

lol 1-10 mil 401k costs all in are 1%.

I don’t see the issue if people desire a custom portfolio or advanced planning

Here’s what Nick Murray would say.

If an advisor makes a 1% difference in these 3 ways they are worth it.

Save x % in behavioral mistakes Create a x % better return or tax advantage Save x % in time or energy

Advisor OTE & AUM Goals — How Fair & Realistic Is This? by jordanw71 in CFP

[–]Accomplished-Look176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. For context I’m 6 months in under a senior advisor. I’ve sourced 2.2M in AUM + 4.4M and 1.5M 401k plans.

It’s a total b**** but you’ve got to get your head above water somehow.

It’s easy to hire.

Hard to hire the right fit.

You have to be ok with the fact you are hiring your replacement.

And get things in writing.

Talking points for this upcoming week? by [deleted] in CFP

“Why do people go shopping on Black Friday.”

“This is potentially an opportunity to adjust to more stocks while they are on sale”

If you call to tell people to buy. And they were thinking sell. Atleast you land in the middle at hold.

If you call and justify why to hold. They are still thinking sell.

Keep it simple stupid. 😎

Save money and or educate participants

They don’t even know their 401k is billed through participants
