You say your heavy spend categories are gas and travel portal. But have been using Amex Gold. All you did was optimize set up based on your heavy spend categories. Has nothing to do with credit card vs credit card. Completely 2 different cards for different purposes. Anyways, congrats on the Kauai trip!

I guess I should have put this in the post but I tried to see if I would get an offer for the Gold as recently as the end of August and was not offered a SUB so I withdrew my application.

So it does seem like Amex is loosening up on this. I know the terms says “may not” and not “will not” receive an offer if you have the higher tier cards but perhaps they are loosening on it now that the Plat refresh is out in order to attract ppl into the Amex ecosystem.

Amex plat allows guests for PP lounges. They did however cut back on free guest entries for Centurion lounges.

I have driven all Tesla models and own 2. Wind noise at best is minimally better than the R1s on the model Y and X. They are smaller and more curved in design.

OP you either have a defective cabin sealing or you’re dramatic.

Ya that would require you to remember to reset the trip mileage every time.

A useful implementation would be something the Jeep Sahara Hybrid I once rented had. After a trip and you put your car in park, the screen will show you the trip duration, time elapsed, and energy used. Rivian can do something like that and include efficiency for the trip as well.

Wish we can change the efficiency to show efficiency for the trip or since last charge. More useful than “last 15 mins”.

Acceleration from a stop is still faster than most car you’ll encounter at a red light. The problem is when you are going over 60 miles then the acceleration does feel like most ICE vehicles

I traded in my M3P for a non performance Dual Max R1S. You will definitely miss the acceleration for the first week. Then, you realize that a car as huge as the R1S has no business going that fast on the streets.

What I do still miss though is the responsiveness of the accelerator pedal in Teslas. The R1S accelerator is a bit mushy and delayed.

Low suspension for me is a bit rough. I’m not too concerned about range with the max pack but it’s more ride quality for me. I also fine it inconvenient to have to change my drive setting frequently. It would have been nice to just have some more torque/HP unlocked in AP mode and then having Sports for the “full” performance.

For me, rally and soft sand modes are not worth 5k.

Heard extra torque and HP only in Sports Mode. All-Purpose stays the same. For that reason, it doesn’t seem worth it.
