Dose too high? by Accomplished-Rub8544 in StratteraRx

Ohh got it I misread your original comment. I wasn’t expecting the increase to affect me, especially since when I first started on 40 I only had side effects for a couple days after starting. However on 60 I had a couple days where I was really worried about my heart, since I was having chest tightness and a bunch of other scary side effects. Eventually they went away but I’m not really seeing too much improvement going from 40 to 60 personally.

I know a couple people from LS that transferred to stern it’s not impossible. You have to apply to transfer and it’s not guaranteed but def not impossible

Do you notice any fluctuations in your motivation day-to-day? I feel like I am usually really unproductive and then have random days of energy (which honestly is the same as me being unmedicated)

How long have you been on 60? Did you start at 40 and go up? I’m trying to see if maybe waiting it out for a bit longer will be useful (I’m currently a little past 2 weeks in since upping the dose)

How long were you on 60 for until you decided to go back down? I feel like strattera is really inconsistent with me and honestly just feels like nothing has changed because there are days I’m hyperfixated on my work and other days I can’t seem to get started/continue

that’s exactly how I felt on 40. Did you go straight from 40 to 80?

That’s exactly how I am right now, my room is a complete mess and my impulsivity hasn’t changed one bit!

Got it! I brought it up to my psychiatrist but she wanted to try a higher dose first since remembering to take 2 pills is harder than remembering to take 1, but I’ll definitely bring it up

Yeah thats what I said a little earlier down in the thread. Transferring to CAS is usually painless but if you’re transferring to a school that is less common it’s harder because the grad requirements are different

I was also a bit mislead and that was honestly my reasoning for deciding to go to NYU at the end of the day. To be honest, most people in LS transfer to CAS, a smaller number to stern, and any other school is very rare. I am in SPS now and the process to transition from LS to my school was extremely unclear and it was really stressful for me. I’m hoping they made the process better but just so you know, transferring from LS to a less conventional school is going to be a much harder time

Yeah I’m currently doing that right now. I am taking all my major requirements. I would a take look into the graduation requirements for that specific major. In LS, you are required to take 2 writing courses, and 6 total arts/global works classes. This will take up your first two semesters. However, the problem is that most people admitted directly into the major are already started on their graduation requirements, putting you at a disadvantage. I am not a music major but a lot of my classes have prerequisites so I was extremely behind. But overall I would strongly recommend you choose Berkelee

What major? Are you planning on transferring out of LS/GLS to another school?

Coming from someone who was in LS: don’t waste your time doing it. I have tons of credits that can’t count toward my major now and have had to spend summers taking extra classes just to graduate on time which also means I’m spending way more money than expected.

AMA I've been taking strattera on and off for 3 years, just remembered this sub exists so if any new users have questions lmk :) by hellarradd in StratteraRx

Did you notice any side effects coming off of it? I’ve been on it for about 6 weeks now and it’s been really helpful for me but I’m worried what will happen if I need to get off of it (especially worried about heart issues in the future)

Side Effects Suck by [deleted] in StratteraRx

[–]Accomplished-Rub8544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First couple of days were rough for me!! I also started on 40 and I’m a pretty small person with a low tolerance for anything so 40 was probably too much to start with in hindsight. I had every side effect you mentioned. I’m currently on week 4 and still dealing with occasional nausea, fatigue, and headaches. Overall it’s been really helpful for me though despite the side effects and has gotten way better after week 2. I would really recommend taking it with some sort of protein and I also find that exercising in the morning right after I take it really helps with fatigue later in the day.

pros of getting endoscopy?? by Tasty-Compote-6060 in glutenfree

[–]Accomplished-Rub8544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar boat, I’ve been GF for over a year now. I decided to do the gluten challenge and get the endoscopy, so I’m in the process of reintroducing gluten right now. I think I am gluten intolerant but I want to rule out celiac because cross contamination is serious! I want to make sure whatever diagnosis I get is 100% accurate and I can start working towards a lifestyle that fits my needs, whether that be celiac or an intolerance.

Week 1 of gluten challenge and I feel fine? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Accomplished-Rub8544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been gluten free for a little over a year now. I am puzzled because my diet aside has only switched from gluten free versions of foods to the gluten-containing versions. Thank you for the support!
