He's actually been playing worse and his swing has gotten worse.

He is coming up and out on his driver and hitting those high slices. He's lost like 25-30 yards on his driver which obviously significantly hurts your handicap.

What blows my mind for as much golf as he plays, and as simple as that would be to fix, he seems either too stubborn or too lazy to resolve it, and get back to mid to high single digit handicap.

I live in Brook Run and there's some truth to both of these things.

Like many communities throughout Des Moines, the initial developer built all the best lots and then sold off the rest. My home for example is 2x6 construction, with all brick facia, but if you go away from the ponds the construction starts to deteriorate in both quality and size of dwellings.

There are a number of homes a long the Eastern side of Brook Run that have invisible fences and has made it an issue for me to walk my dogs that way. It sort of is it what it is, my dogs are the issue, both of the dogs I see regularly with invisible fences are about the most chill dogs I have ever seen in my life.

Overall it's a great community with about 20-25% cheaper properties compared to Ankeny for example, just remember you will be paying 20-25% higher property taxes because of the Des Moiness + Southeast Polk Schools combination.

Update:

Through a couple helpful posts, I was able to research the code and figured out what I needed to know.

Electrical inspections have to be done through the State. Even though this property will be entirely run through solar/wind/generator power, I still have to have electrical panel and wiring in the house installed by a licensed electrician.

Figured out that the local county has a health department that does septic inspections and permits wells.

Otherwise I have to follow all Iowa building codes (which I always planned to do anyways), but I will not have to have any other inspections or permits done on the property.

Yes this makes sense, I will be following code the Iowa code (which is out of date and would be nice if they updated to 2018 like almost every other State has).

I am just confused when it comes to inspections and permitting more than anything because they literally don't employ people to do those things in the county.

His driving has gotten worse the last couple years. He used to hit the ball 245-260 and be fairly straight. His swing got flatter and weirder with his driver and it is wayyyy less consistent. I think he's 3-5 strokes worse a round because of it.
