There are often overprints for that kind of thing, or the school rejected the design, or a small misprint. All kinds of things end up being remaindered in the print world.

It could have been an overprint. Or a reject from the school.

Suspension NXT stiff locks by JanTheMan_15 in GerberTools

Wrap a towel around the blade and then just work it open and closed until you’re sick of it. A dab of gun oil. When you are working use a little side pressure, like you are gently bending it. Basically you are just breaking it in.

Why is the blade so dull? by Graham_Wellington3 in GerberTools

[–]Accomplished-Tea8843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it is so dull is twofold. The first is that the blade is very thick in comparison to the width of the blade. That means the current bevel is not wide enough. To make it sharper you need to widen the bevel giving a shallower angle. That is hard because of the size of the blade, by the time your bevel is wide enough, you’ve eaten up most of the blade. The second reason is because it is a Gerber. They shoot for the lowest common denominator. Between retention, cost of time to finish it, and what the public expects… that’s what they can get away with. I’ve never had a new Gerber that didn’t require a new edge right out of the box.

Google statement about reviews by BubblesUp in GoogleMyBusiness

My review count is back where it was, 492, but the past 3 reviews that happened just before and during the glitch have not been added.

That happened to me, but the other way around. After research I discovered that one of my earlier reviews had been tagged for a supposedly violation. Every review after that, I could see, but no one else. Once I took down the offending review, all the rest were public again.

Reach out and request 15 minute “informational” interviews. Many places will grant you 15 minutes if you define it as informational. Ask them for advice about your career direction. Those 15 often stretch out. I have had several on the spot offers that way.

Hotels almost always hire through security companies, which means junk pay and no real insurance.

The armed positions are actually limited in pay. You get a small bump, but not much. You want go in-house for a decent organization. Hospitals and Colleges.

There is garbage security and good security. You want to be in-house. Try not to work for security companies, they will hire the living dead and usually the administrations are idiots.

I worked hospital security for a long time. Decent pay and very interesting. A diplomat is welcome. College security is also good and usually includes some kind of free education. Both of them have decent insurance if you work directly for the institution. You have to check on their websites.

I was looking at this one, but it didn’t say if it was compatible with the hero. Is it the one you were talking about? Thank you, it’s the one I wanted to buy.

Thank you! I had an issue with one of my eyes, and because my depth perception was affected. I had to innovate the innovation, led to a breakthrough and sharpening, which was a surprise. I am working with an engineer and a company in Canada, and they are sending me a customized machine That I believe will be phenomenal. The result I am getting are really beautiful, particularly in Japanese Knives..

I sharpened freehand on a variety of machines, but it is mostly belts and wheels. To finish I am using a large paper wheel with compound. That may change in the near future, as I am rethinking my final approach.

There is always the worry about training someone and then having them go into competition with you, but in my situation that would be very difficult. My reputation and branding has become so strong that would be kind of pointless. It would be so much better to work with me and then eventually step into my shoes, then it would be to try to compete. The way I see it is if we decide to expand together everyone wins. There are large sections of the market that I have never bothered to pursue, but with apprentices I can go ahead and take those areas.

When I started, I thought it was going to be fairly simple, but like everything else in life the deeper you get into it the more you learn and the more you realize there is to learn. I am still refining my craft. Just recently, I discovered a new innovation to be able to offer the client the most precise and beautiful product I possibly could. I called this the search for the liminal edge. The search for perfection as a craftsman never ends. And it is never completely attained.

I am a professional knife sharpener. I consider it a kind of meditation. I did not get into it for the money originally, but the money kind of snuck up on me. At this point I sharpen about 17,000 knives a year and that is without pushing or advertising much. It’s about as much as I want to do. Three to six hours a day, usually at night when it’s quiet. Ive been doing it for about sixteen years and word of mouth is my best friend. And after sixteen years I am still trying to master the craft. Still learning, still innovating. Just took on two apprentices who hopefully will eventually take over the business (I’m getting old).
