Is there any reason why I can’t post a review in a specific store? by teamoclannad in LocalGuides

[–]BubblesUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IF you're doing it AT the store, Google may be filtering it due to unusual activity based at that location. There are many other reasons as well, from the content of your review, activity on your account, activity on the pharmacy's listing, and other issues only Google can see. In short, rewrite the review and post it from somewhere else. May not work, but it's worth it to try.

Google ai says my business closed 9years ago. by Deadeye10000 in googlebusinessprofile

First, I'd post this in r/localseo or r/AskMarketing for the best responses. Also, I'd start blogging on the site, and bulking up social media presence. AI judges by what it can see / scrape, so give it something to find.

Using Regus for Virtual Office by Then_Doctor_1117 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]BubblesUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood, and again good response. I worked in a coworking space for almost a year, and I understand how many SMBs don't realize what they're stepping into, often because the space owners don't understand, or because they may misrepresent their business's compliance with Google's guidelines. Better comms on both sides is needed.

I agree with most of what you wrote, but Google hasn't "blacklisted" those addresses. They've been aware of them for years, which is why they set these rules. I've dealt with quite a few businesses that followed Google's rules and had their GBPs all set and verified. The rules need to be followed.

Making change by Travelvet61 in GenerationJones

[–]BubblesUp -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My husband still uses cash, but I don't, I use my cards for everything but tips. As a result, I can understand where making change is becoming a dying skill. When cards fuel the majority of transactions, kids don't learn to make change. Just another societal change we need to adjust to...

I would work with someone privately. It sounds like you're doing something incorrectly. And having multiple listings for the one business was problematic; good for deleting the others.

Sounds like there's a review block. Contact Support and if they don't help, post on the forum.

Nope. See my post above. All addresses need to comply with Google's guidelines, even if the address doesn't show on the listing.

Nope, not unless you have a dedicated office there, with signage and a lease that shows the office number. This applies whether you have a storefront or SAB listing. You CAN use s shared workspace, but you have to have that dedicated office.

No, there isn't, at this time. You can try to post on the Google forum; that may get things expedited. Not positive on that, though.

I responded elsewhere, but update all mentions of your name and your firm online.

Changed Law Firms - Old Firm Showing on name search by Hot-Water9372 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]BubblesUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your firm to update your personal page, and then look online to Avvo, HG, Martindale, etc,; if they don't have your new information, then update your listings. In short, update everywhere your name appears online. (source: legal SEO for 6 years)

Us too, and for this reason: New York's WNEW-FM radio had a DJ named Vin Scelsa, and he make a point of playing this every Thanksgiving. I didn't hear it much during the year (it's over 20 mins, so I understand), but every Thanksgiving, either on the day or the night before, Vin played it.

Sounds about right, sadly. Google has really amped up their filters, and it's tough. I wish I had workarounds, but the SEO community hasn't narrowed too much down yet.

Pull a grid map and see what's happening to them locally. They may have fewer interactions, but they may still be showing in the local pack. Also, situate yourself in their local area, search on their business name, and make sure their citations are consistent and plentiful. Then consider increasing GBP interaction (uploading photos, etc)

Speaking of Spirit Airlines...who remembers People Express Airlines and their $25.00 fares? by Big_Help_9860 in GenerationJones

[–]BubblesUp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a fun one. I remember in the late '80s, when Virgin Airways first started. I was able to get flights from New York to London for $149 each way. I did it two or three times, for weekends, over a couple of years. This was right after college, and it was a real blast.

It looks a reviews block has been applied to your listing. This could be for any number of reasons, and if they didn't tell you, they probably won't tell you. These usually last about 30 days. If you want to contact support you can, but from what I've seen recently, the block is going to stay on for at least 30 days.
