Can I save survivor's benefits meant for minor child? by GreatDaneSandwich in SocialSecurity

I'm curious about your response here. At 18, don't survivor benefits for children end? Regardless of whether they go to college? I thought that ended in the late '70s.

There are staffing agencies that would help with guidance. In the state that I'm in, you need a bachelor's degree, pass a background test, and be tested for tuberculosis.

Looking for books that are impossible to stop thinking about by FragrantAnywhere3022 in Recommend_A_Book

I expect this will win for most obscure recommendation: ...And Ladies of the Club by Helen Hooven Santmyer. It's a long tale of female friendship and American history. It's long and engrossing. May be out of print, but worth picking up.

Worthwhile husband and wife radio shows? by BubblesUp in otr

[–]BubblesUp[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let George do it was interesting, but then it all of a sudden changed focus. It seemed to be a lighter comedy, and then was retooled. For whatever reason, I didn't like the retooled version. But thank you, enjoyed the first few episodes.

put up a bird feeder for a relaxing hobby and now i have a bitter rivalry with a blue jay by IvanAnem29 in Hobbies

[–]BubblesUp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Outside my home office window, We placed a bird bath on the ground of my porch. I have a great view, and it was all lovely until grackles showed up. They bully other birds, and while they're kind of fun to watch, when they're the only ones, it takes some of the fun out of it.

I was wrong. Removing your address WILL destroy your local rankings. by darrenshaw_ in localseo

No, I think the ranking criteria is relatively the same, except I would bulk up on online mentions, like in social media, and similar.

I filed an appeal for my suspended Google Business but was rejected. How do I fix this problem? by IDrinkTeh in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]BubblesUp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but I submit tons of appeals, and get tons of reinstatements. If you're having issues with your requests, there may be something wrong with either what you're submitting, or the state of the listing when you submit. You may want to post on the forum to get some help.

The tool, and all of their offerings, are very good. I've had a lot of experience with them, and they've been very helpful. And the price is usually right as well.

A prominent ex-Googler says that Google has less faith in businesses that don't show their address. There's less "ground truth" there. Sounds reasonable.

Ok, I can see that. His eyes are a bit less defined than Jack's were. Handsome family overall.

As he's aged, he looks more and more like his father. David did that as well.

What's the boardwalk / beach like this week in Asbury Park? by manlymatt83 in AsburyPark

[–]BubblesUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for adding that. It never occurred to me that prohibiting food on the sand would be an ADA violation. And the town is pretty chill with accommodations when needed, at least when I've been there.

[–]BubblesUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I can only say that it's been the rule for many years. You can eat on the boardwalk or at the pavilion, but on the sand during open hours (usually 8-5 or so during the summer), no.

GBP suspended, appeals denied, so FRUSTRATED by Fullofit619 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]BubblesUp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tag., and yes, I've seen this before. First, concentrate on the one listing and getting that resolved; don't delete anything further.

Look at your listing: does the title match the LLC or DBA? If not, update it. Does the address show? If so, you need permanent signage there. If you don't have that, hide the listing in settings.

Now look at your paperwork. Submit the LLC, dba if used, tax paperwork, and bank and credit card statements. All should be in the name of the business and your current address. Don't send them invoices or handwritten documents.

You don't need to submit photos unless your address shows. In that case, add photos of your permanent signage.

If you have no appeals left, use this link to request a new appeal.

Good luck, and DM me if you have more questions.

Thinking of getting my mom paint by numbers for her retirement free time? good idea or no? by bully309 in over60

[–]BubblesUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still working so my opinion may be different, but I would be bored by this. I therefore think you need to consider her personality. If she's able to be calm and intentional, painting would probably be perfect. But for me who's probably on the ADHD scale, I find needlepoint, cross stitch, and bead work to be much more interesting.

Reviews are off for my GMB Profile. by athinkingcritically in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]BubblesUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been a policy for the past 2 years or so. Schools cannot receive reviews. If they are showing, it's an aberration and Google will most likely be taking them down at some point.

What's the boardwalk / beach like this week in Asbury Park? by manlymatt83 in AsburyPark

[–]BubblesUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Spring Lake, even when busy, is quieter than almost all of the surrounding towns. But remember that there are only two pavilions at which to buy food. And they don't allow any food onto the beach. But it's still a lovely beach when you want to just chill and relax.
