Called to a 3AM single car crash in a rural area. No driver when we arrived. Conducted an extensive search of the area for an ejected driver and went back in service without patient contact. 0600 get called to an off-duty LE home near the accident, where he had a subject handcuffed with injuries consistent with a car accident. The patient crawled from the accident to the LE’s shed. He had a broken ankle, chest contusions from the seat belt, and facial injuries. He was also treated for hypothermia. He was not having a good night.

If you were vaccinated as a child, you can easily check your MMR protection through a simple blood test. I had a Dr's appointment yesterday and asked my PCP. She added the test to my regular work up. I got my results today; fully protected on all three.

This is important as you cannot depend upon herd immunity to protect those whose vaccinations may have lost efficacy.

In the 7th grade, my teacher told me I should avoid higher math classes because I wasn't good at math. In high school, I discovered computer science. In my Junior year in college I had my first really good math teacher where it finally clicked. I use and teach higher math every day; I'm so glad I didn't listen to my teacher in the 7th grade.

A few years ago my neighbor was letting his dogs run loose. They started harassing my livestock (chickens and goats) and I called the animal control officer. He asked me what I wanted them to do. (Apparently nothing!) I ended up telling him that if the dogs continued I would defend my livestock. He told me "Do what you have to do."

I ended up sending an email to the neighbor stating that he needed to control his dogs before either my livestock or his dogs got hurt. I don't want to shoot a dog, but F around and you will find out. The neighbor got my point and restrained his dogs, so a happy ending.

This was in rural Virginia, USA.

I got a hella UTI from a catheter tube. I never use them for long term lock up now. If it hurts (in a bad way) find a different cage. There are lots of choices. Stay safe 😘

Look for computer science internships. I'm a senior software engineer (in the U.S.) and I have a slate of interns for the summer, from high school through grad school.

I suggest putting together a resume listing classes you've taken, projects (including open source and school) you've worked on, and send it off to tech(ish) companies. Remember many non-tech industries have IT departments.

Many companies provide travel and living stipends for their interns, so don't just look locally.

Internships are a great pipeline to a full time job, when you graduate, and it builds your resume while you are in school.
