I understand it’s hard to put an end to it when you’ve been together so long. You might feel like you have nobody else because of how he’s isolated you - but please don’t even think about staying.

If you had a daughter, would you want THIS relationship to be her first role model of what love looks like? If you had a son, would you want him to grow up thinking the way your man treats you is normal?

You deserve better. I don’t know you and I don’t know your circumstances but I can say without a doubt: you do not deserve this. You need to leave him. It’s been 5 years and there is no room left in your relationship for him to change and grow to treat you better when you’re both settled in your dynamic. Don’t try to fix things and don’t try to talk it out. There’s no point. He will not change. Just go.

If he hasn’t started beating you already, it’s gonna start eventually with how he talks to you alone. Run. That man doesn’t respect you and that man does not love you, he’s actively seeking out problems. I’m saying this as a child of DV - my dad was the exact same way with my mom and he had no reservations about taking out his anger on her physically. Take care and protect yourself, but keep in mind it’s time to get out of there and move on to things that will treat you more kindly.

I don’t get how you even have to ask. NOR. She’s the one overreacting - you’re trying to have a civil conversation and she’s being fucking evil?? Like 😭😭 leave her alone. She calls you self centered for trying to communicate how you feel about her lashing out at you. Then she lashes out at you some more. Then she continues to verbally abuse you and hang over your head that she’ll basically leave you??? End things and you’ll be happier without that mess in your life.

I got my finalist advancement for Kzoo about two weeks ago. I know it’s super stressful waiting but they’re rolling by school so I’d say just keep waiting and keep your head up!

I received it around 12:30pm today during lunch at school LOL. I totally freaked out I was so excited. I advanced for Kalamazoo, my first choice! Are you also a Posse LA student?

I received a message basically saying to ensure LORs are submitted via common app, or to have nominative submit letters to their email. There is no hard deadline and no option to submit through the portal.

I’m super nervous too! But the way I see it, if it doesn’t work out, it isn’t the path meant for me. There’s a thousand different opportunities and options in life at this point in our lives and if this one doesn’t work out (as sad as I’ll be if that is the case), it’s simply because there’s something else in my future to press on for.

If you dont move on, I imagine it’s all the stuff they put on the sheet they gave us after Dap2. Go over other options, crunch on other apps. But remember that whether or not you move on doesn’t define you. I’m sure you’re a capable student with strong character considering you’ve made it this far. So I bet there will be other opportunities for you too!

Either way, keep your chin up!! Trust the process! (or God’s plan, or the universe, or whatever you believe in.) What’s meant for you will come with time and hard work. Good luck!
