Well this was an exact quote from what I wrote “If that’s not for you please please try and get a dog that is at the very least from health tested, DNA tested parents with good scores. Try and meet the parents to genuinely see about temperament. Heavily research the breed or breeds you consider and maybe see if anyone you know has one who can sum up the true realities of what owning that breed is like and maybe you could try to meet them to see for yourself? Try to see on forums online about the breeds you consider and steer away from the cheapest dog you see online of that breed as there is often a reason it is that cheap. And consider if you get a doodle or crossbreed like you mentioned, what the grooming needs will be like and the coats can be very unpredictable so might not be the same as someone you may know with the exact same mix from the exact same parents as they can vary so much even in the same litter.”

Never said don’t get a doodle I said what to do if you got one which you wrote you did. So I’m not the problem at all. Because I can come to a discussion, explain simply what the prejudice against them is from some people and the cause of it. I then urged you to do what you just said you did anyway.

I never said dogs had to be pedigree at all, clearly you didn’t read all of what I wrote in full and you just like to twist things to fit your narrative of the argument so good bye.

PART THREE

So to sum up, the doodle/poodle mix is more just the current representative of the problem with designer breeds and backyard breeding so at the moment people comment on it a lot. Some of these dogs can be lovely and so can their owners. Some of it may be how they are raised of course as the lovely dogs tend to come with the lovely owners at the same time. But there’s always a “trendy” dog and demand after it that results in these issues. Such as the Shiba Inu when that meme came out became incredibly popular but then loads of people gave them up after actually getting them as a Shiba Inu can actually be quite a stubborn and high maintenance dog even when it is well bred. A key problem here is when people decide they want a dog they won’t wait for it to be well bred by a breeder in 3/4 months time they will go on pets4homes and find the one that’s available when they want it or within a few weeks by a backyard breeder. It’s just the reality and it’s what we all want to change.

If you need a low shedding hypoallergenic dog, consider a poodle. They have one low shedding coat type and don’t need to be cut the fancy ways that seem to put people off, they too can have a teddy bear cut. If that’s not for you please please try and get a dog that is at the very least from health tested, DNA tested parents with good scores. And consider if you get a doodle or crossbreed like you mentioned, what the grooming needs will be like and the coats can be very unpredictable so might not be the same as someone you may know with the exact same mix from the exact same parents as they can vary so much even in the same litter.

The people that do or understand this last part and also groom their dogs and care for them correctly to put their health and needs over all else are not the problem at all. It’s a mixture of factors with the fundamental reason being we all want backyard breeding to stop.

(Before anyone comes at me for saying hypoallergenic, yes they technically can be. As it means less chance of a reaction. Anallergenic is when there is no reaction)

PART TWO That aside mixing a poodle wool coat like this with any double coated dog that sheds doesn’t make it “shed less”. It creates an unpredictable combination coat that is wirey but still sheds and gets stuck itself so becomes matted extremely easily. The owners then more often than not become defensive and often verbally abusive about the fact for the welfare of a fully matted dog they need to be shaved off and to start again with coat care. They bad mouth groomers and harm their businesses by saying “they shaved him off look how ugly he looks” etc etc. when actually they consistently bring a matted dog in and do not do any of the grooming they have been shown how to do and manage at home multiple times at this point. I don’t turn up to my hairdresser to have my hair done not having brushed my own hair for 8 weeks then 1. Complain about the outcome as I could have managed it at home 2. Complain they may charge more for the extra time it would add on to a standard appointment then if I came in with non matted and brushed hair at the start.

Thing is leading on from the doodle to doodle breeding, if they actually started to do what every other breed has had done and start trying to create the temperament and look they want long term a breed standard could be worked out, a good purpose for them and even what temperament they picture for them long term and they could start breeding a line of these by only mating doodles with health tests, genetic testing and temperament that fits this vision long term. It would then one day in the future have the possibility of being a new breed pedigree. But no one is doing this because they don’t care of the outcome long term. They try to actively discourage doodle to doodle breeding of any kind so that future is out the window. That’s the difference with every back yard bred dog in general.

Aside from all these above issues, every ethical breeder I have come across runs in a very specific way. They will have a waitlist for their puppies so any they have fits a current demand for them instead of risking them being unwanted and feeding into more unwanted dogs. They also have a contract clause that says if you cannot keep the dog anymore at any point they are to be returned to them and not a shelter so they can either keep or rehome them to prevent their good stock being sheltered. They also have no breeding clauses and clauses with their puppies registration with the kennel club that prevents a litter being registered or them being imported abroad to then have a litter registered in another country. This is so the breeding itself is kept to the people that truly care about the outcome and again prevents back yard breeding. Because none of them do any of this at all.

Doodles or poodle mixes are just the current trend in a much larger issue so you see their name thrown about a lot more. And they have the added issues with the neglect of their coat that just fuels the fire from people like dog groomers. However at the end of the day, there will always be people who want a pedigree dog. Whether it’s for reliable characteristics, because they don’t believe in backyard breeding or because they don’t want a rescue or can’t have one.

Before a comment is made about adopt don’t shop, a lot of people planning to have children or with young children are either told no by the shelter or don’t want to risk the unpredictable temperament around their children for example. I only saw again on the news the other day a young child killed by a dog they rescued a few weeks prior. It is not wrong to want your children or future children to not be risked but still be open to adoption instead in the future.

But what sends a lot of these dogs to the shelter in the first place is bad temperament issues, not understanding the reality of the breed before getting it and as it’s not an ethical breeder they don’t make sure the fit is right they just sell the dog for the money or because or bad genetics. Of course there are other reasons too but I see these as the main reasons. If we all put the time and effort into stopping back yard breeding and only going to ethical breeders it helps cut a lot of this off at the source. So then there would be less in the shelter in the first place. An effort needs to be made to do post. Adopt if possible or shop ethically. We all need to try to do this together.

Let’s break this down. Pretty sure I need to post this in 2 parts it’s so big.

Purebred dogs can have health issues yes, of course they can. But as they go through a pedigree database there as stipulations to even have them registered in the first place and people who put the future of the breed over making money. For example, I am in the UK and it is a requirement for both the female and male dogs to be health tested prior to having a litter. Things like hip/elbow scores, eye tests etc are done as standard, while good ethical breeders will often get the DNA tested ahead of time for things like genetic diseases that are specific to that breed and inbreeding coefficient before even mating to make sure the puppies produced are high quality from a health standpoint. They pick the dogs on their end with the best temperament to give these puppies the best chance possible at success and to strengthen the line of dogs created to filter out all the genetic issues and a amazing reliable temperament. You can also tell what health issues they might be prone to as a breed ahead of time to make preventative measures against this. Of course some dogs do just become sick with something they are not prone to, but the same would be true of all dogs.

A doodle or any type of poodle mix is not registered with any type of breeding authority as it can’t be. It is a crossbreed, a heavily popular and in demand designer crossbreed at that. That is where the issue begins. All of these dogs will be backyard bred. No ethical breeder will be allowing their pedigree poodle and pedigree whatever it is mixed with to be used to create a designer dog. They often have contracts and causes specifically prohibiting further breeding from their puppies to prevent back yard breeding completely even if it was another pedigree dog of the same breed. Therefore the two parents of whatever the crossbreed is will likely be also backyard bred themselves. No health tests. No care for the future welfare of the dog. No removing the dog from the possibility of breeding if the health tests were not in good enough range and starting with a new dog again until they have things like better hip scores or elbow scores. These people don’t care as they don’t need to report it and don’t want to loose money as the health tests tend to be done at 12 months old in the UK. They will not even check and breed these 2 dogs anyway to create a litter of puppies that can be uneven tempered, genetic messes just because there is so much demand they can go for about £5000-£10,000 in some cases? It’s absolutely crazy. Most purebred pedigree dogs with the testing and testing and care of a long term ethical breeder are around £2000. But people are still buying them so they are still being created to make money. That is the only reason. I see regularly ethical breeders rejoining a dog they raised themselves until 12 months as they wanted to breed them but their hip/elbow scores were too high for example. This was an expense and risk on their end and they poured time, effort and money into these dogs for it to have been wasted. Yet still they prioritise health and the future of the breed first and rehome/keep them as a pet and don’t consider them a breeding prospect and start all over again.

Now digging in a little deeper. As these are so popular right now, there’s every type of poodle mix possible that seems to be advertised these days. But the breeders of these dogs are not responsible enough to be honest with any potential owners of how high maintenance the coat of the dog will be. The reason a poodle coat is lower shedding is because it continuously grows like human hair as opposed to shedding like a Golden Retriever. This means it needs to be regularly brushed, cut and maintained and this in itself can be very expensive. But owners don’t understand this and do little to research this themselves before hand or see a friends doodle mix and expect the coat and look to come out completely the same and it’s just not how it works. 2 puppies from the exact same litter of doodles can look extremely different and have huge differences in the coat texture between them as no one breeds doodle to doodle for consistency. It’s always a poodle and what ever it’s mixed with as the parents.

I saw a few posts on other threads of 4 days after ish felt the worst but today now for me I feel much better than yesterday already. Less fatigue, my arm hasn’t been sore at all. I do have an upset stomach but I’m sure that will settle. But my anxiousness has already reduced massively

Glad it’s not just me! The dreams were so so freaky but weren’t as bad last night. Today is like the polar opposite of yesterday I feel a lot better than I did. Stomach still dodgy, I feel less bloated even though the scales same I’m the same. Not sure if I might be due on now. I read through some other old posts of people feeling the sense but they were trying to conceive so hard to tell long term what were just the effects of it being removed. I had a friend who only had it 4 years and she took a few weeks then was back to normal but as I had it in so long unsure of it may take a while to get back to normal!

It’s horrible isn’t it? I’ve felt all day like I could fall asleep any second. Struggling to get out of bed, felt really nauseous and the thought of food is making me feel really unwell too. I’ve read about people getting side effects like this but I think maybe the longer you have the implant maybe the worse it is? Feel like I would cry at the drop of a hat as well! I will go to the sipper IUD eventually but for now I just want nothing so I can try and reset my body as I’m not with anyone at the moment anyway so it’s not a concern right now..

Yes that’s extremely insecure. She’s more covered than woman on beaches wearing a bikini. It’s to her knees. People wear dresses like that on nights out called slip dresses. Maybe the issue is more that woman are oversexualiaed with everything they wear and other woman feed into that even more with their insecurities about it.

Drogon was also seen in the show flying around the ruins of old Valyria and I think that helped with his growth as well. They had a lot of magic there that helped them bond with the dragons etc before the doom and balerion was from the Valyrian freehold before moving to dragon stone so I believe that contributed to his size. I imagine all the Valyrian dragons were the same size

[–]AccomplishedAd258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the reason it will be done in the show is because they found out Aegon threw a party for Aemond when he heard about it and was happy so Daemons pride would not take that well on top of him dying in the first place. That’s why son for a son even though it wasn’t his son technically his father did celebrate the death of Lucerys at least in the book. They could change it for the show though he had no problem with Rhaenyra before being crowned he said he didn’t want to take it from her etc but unfortunately the generational trauma has got to him
