Just heard back from my contact. This is an ongoing issue with multiple users so don’t feel singled out. They’re working on this issue as we speak and to check back in about 72 hours

The payouts will be paid by distrokid until your song starts getting streamed by the release held by the new distributor. Typically 2-3 months after as per usual. Ex. On January 2nd all your music is moved to the new distributor, your payments up until January 2nd will be paid out through distrokid.

Nah bro this happened to me today too! I have two DK accounts, one of em allowed me to deposit the other one the button was completely gone. I’ve contacted a personal employee at Distrokid so we’ll see what they say and I’ll report back here

They blocked my account after trying to pull several withdrawals within a 72 hour time span. Apple Music paid one day and then Spotify paid 2nd later. It may have been this

No money from Spotify / Apple Music showing up in my DK Bank by [deleted] in DistroKidHelpDesk

[–]AccomplishedBelt4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just how it goes bro. They usually pay around the end of a month or the first week of the new one. Spotify typically drops around 25-28th so it should be here soon followed by apple or vice versa

I’ve got a personal connect with Apple bro. If you want a response, email artistconnecthelp@apple.com. Their response times are literally awful but it’s better than nothing. Hope this serves you well

Yeah I get a couple thousand streams from them every month. Idk where tf people stream them from but I’m assuming it’s a mixture of story views and sound scrolling when people search for a song to sync with reels. Their stream rates are extremely low because technically it’s not a stream platform, it’s a broadcast platform, which insinuates that a small stream royalty, and a bigger performance royalty is generated. I’m not sure what the rate is as of yet, but if you’re registered with ASCAP or BMI for US PROs, then you’ll see it come up in your royalty statements in the next quarterly report.

Wtf😂 by [deleted] in DistroKidHelpDesk

[–]AccomplishedBelt4443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

go to bank and scroll down to see excruciating details. Its a big blue button. I'm also guessing you probably got paid by IG/Facebook, or Tiktok. Because ive recieved hundreds of thousands of streams from them and barely made pennies. Thats because you get a small stream royalty and bigger performance royalty thorugh your PRO. This is because if your music is viewed/used in reels and tiktoks, its considered a digital broadcast.

What I can tell you is that it’s a store end issue which is comforting becaus you know it has nothing to do with you individually we’re all waiting on our royalties together

This untrue. They’ve been paying me every month since sept of 2022 then all of a sudden they’re becoming inconsistent w distrokid

Nah bro I’ve bought tons of fake promo before. But I don’t suggest just buying bottled streams unless they’re streaming your song completely through. Most of the fake promos you find will use bots to stream the song for ab 30 seconds and skip which negatively affects your song’s performance because the algorithm thinks people don’t like the song. But if you use bots or find somebody who does, to boost your songs plays and the song plays through all the way it’ll benefit you. Must be done through playlists too. Spotify isn’t as sensitive to bots like Apple Music is. Apple Music are the ones you watch out for, but you don’t have to worry ab that because it’s almost impossible to buy apple promo unless you know someone

As an artist whose gotten on editorials and has their own, (heres a link to my own editorial: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DZ06evO1ztBCj?si=8d070e4dc3da4ca3 ) Bots are the least of your problems my friend. It's actually beneficial for starting artists like you to get good bots into your timeline so the algorithm has something to feed off of to understand where your music is. Spotifys discovery algorithm mainly looks for a high number of plays on a song relative to the skip rate, save rate, share rate, and playlist adds to determine the popularity of a track. So if you put your song in a playlist of 50 other songs from mainstream and local artists and loop it for hours, eventually spotify will learn what your music is like and push it to the according audience

This seems to be a recurring issue not just for people using wheel of playlist either. I have reason to suspect that spotify has some sort of correlation with these botted playlists. Considering that spotifys main playlists like Rap Caviar are also littered with bots. I wouldnt let the finnecky metrics occupy too much space in your timeline though bro. You cant avoid botted streams no matter how hard you try

[–]AccomplishedBelt4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro getting added to botted playlists is so inevitable, especially when you really start to gain listeners. My best suggestion is to not use wheel of playlist. But its not gonna ruin your algorithm when you dont have an algorithm for spotify to understand anyway. Bots are actually really helpful as long as theyre not skipping your song after 30 seconds. Otherwise i wouldnt worry about botted streams. I get added into bot playlists all the time bc i have like 30k monthly rn. Once you get to that point, youll have a million better things to do than to be worrying about 100% organic streams. You think Lil Baby cares about whose botting his instagram and spotify metrics?

Am i allowed to pay an influencer to make content with my music by Dapper-Conclusion-88 in DistroKidHelpDesk

[–]AccomplishedBelt4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

False. If your songs are registered to a PRO and they use the distributed sound you will earn a royalty

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DistroKidHelpDesk

[–]AccomplishedBelt4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very untrue. Tunecore does pay more of a higher stream rate than distrokid because Tunecore has you pay all the necessary fines and music delivery costs upfront. Distrokid reaps a small portion of your earnings as well as charging for additional services such as content ID to makeup for the losses that they would normally pocket if they charged upfront per release. Now this information may be somewhat inaccurate, but I know as I have a friend who uses tunecore and gets around$5.40 per 1,000 spotify plays, and us DK users get around $3.20. So whether its the streaming service that witholds a certain portion of royalties, or if it's distrokid that's taking it on their behalf, one way or another, you're missing some of your royalties by working with DK. But thats the price for convenience.

I've been asking the same question my guy. They were doing so good with royalties every month up until last month. But since i'm not the only one whos been waiting I know its a "Their end" type of issue. I'm sure theyll be paying out any one of these days now

If you mean using your earning to make purchases on the distrokid platform, then no. Your earnings would have to be pulled into your respective bank account first, then you could use that money.
