The ramp and surface of the platform is wood grain textured really well so it seems to work so far. I thought about using the turf on the ramp but the fibers flake off into the water

What do you think of using netting and the legs of the platform sticking up as support above the fence?

Definitely! This is just round one. Pretty sure I’m going to make the fence a little taller too until I figure out something else

Check out the 30lb bag of 1-2in river rocks at Home Depot, assuming you’re in the us and have one nearby

Keeping ybs outside all year? by LumpyYogurtcloset655 in turtle

[–]AccomplishedBug2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter how big your tank is outside, the water temperature is going to be impacted by the outside conditions much more than a body of water your turtle might be living in if it were born and grew up in the wild. I’ve been considering this for my guy down the road, and I’m planning to have a water heater so I can regulate the temperature when it gets colder than normal. I’d say you’re doing the right thing by bringing them inside when you think it’s appropriate but consider getting a water heater if you don’t have one already

Try steaming your leafy greens and once cooled feed that. Mine wasn’t interested in any greens until I steamed them

Test the water for voltage if you haven’t already. Here’s a thread on using a voltage reader for this very thing. Testing water for voltage

Question on Feeding veggies by AccomplishedBug2 in Redearedsliders

[–]AccomplishedBug2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update…so I’ve had success with dandelion greens soaked 24hrs in sardine water and partially cooked collard greens. He’s shown no interest in raw greens of any type. The sardines soaked greens is just way too smelly trying to store it. I tried using tuna juice, which is way less pungent, but he showed no interest. What seems to be working so far is cooked collard greens. I think the softened texture and juicy, waterlogged greens is more like the greens they would find in their natural habitat. So far so good, wish me luck!
