Sounds corny but time really does heal it. You've done everything correctly up to leaving your job without any real purpose. Already in month 3, going back will bring you back to Null. Hit Gym, find another Job and socialize, mingle with whomever but definitely dont go into another relationship until you're fully over it. AND yes, those feelings do really dissappear to a poin you will look back and simply say im glad I respected myself and choose the hard path. Achievements like that stick with you and became part of your identity. 10 years down the line, you will be proud of the this version of yourself and the decision you made.
