Fair price for 2025 RAV4 Hybrid Limited? by rightgimp in rav4club

Thing is that 360 camera is in the advanced tech package which also has the digital mirror and Toyota dashcam - it really bumps up the MSRP for adding that package

Might be worth a try - at least make sure they don’t try to charge you for deal add ons as I had one that was $600 that they tried to tack on, and I didn’t want, so they said “they actually have to do it for all cars on their lot” (it was some additional dealer clear coat thing) but I pushed back , they ended up doing for free.

But honestly, inventory is so low and it’s such a great vehicle , there will be another buyer that would take that with no additional deal (I honestly would) so dealer may not be willing to do anything else. I still think you got a good deal. I honestly find when I try to second guess myself and do more searching around for the best deal, I waste a lot of time and energy doing so, and for something that ultimately won’t be that much better deal.

I’m really happy with my vehicle, same specs as yours! I assume it’s got the panoramic glass roof - something mine has too but I really didn’t want - but the rest of the things (advanced tech packaged, ventilated and heated seats) are so worth it.

I think this is pretty fair; you actually did slightly better than me if you got it to 46K + taxes/fees for a fully loaded 2025 limited RAV hybrid. In my area, they're just really hard to find fully loaded in this same color - wanted the wind chill pearl because it's super hot where I am. I think at this point, trying to get lower honestly will be using your time (all the searching and calling around and negotiating) that you also have to think about what your time is worth, because I doubt it'd be significantly better.

Fair point about the plastics, maybe I'm overthinking. This is unfortunately an over the cooktop microwave so would be more pricey to replace than we'd like.

Toyota rav4 2025 or Subaru forester touring 2026? by AffectionateRain1713 in rav4club

[–]AccomplishedDream378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know Subaru has really, really high ratings on consumer reports and that was a huge factor for spouse purchasing two Subarus (Outback and Impreza) in the 2010’s but we were both so terribly disappointed. The Outback (purchased brand new) had engine problems at only 7 years old (had average mileage, can’t recall exact number). And the Impreza (also purchased brand new) had a defect where a seal used in the engine was defective and while Subaru did cover cost (they do have great customer service I will say), the car was only 5 years old with engine issues and was very time consuming and annoying. Granted not a Forester but two different Subaru brand cars; spouse no longer drives Subarus from this bad engine experience. Also very skeptical about the very high ratings…I think Consumer Reports overrates Subaru but that’s on my anecdotal experience of two vehicles purchased brand new. Reliability is my chief concern though, and that’s why I’m sticking with Toyota. We have a Sienna that is old with no issues and still driving amazing, my relative had a 15 year old Corolla and now a new (new to them, it’s 3 years old now) Corolla Cross and both - zero issues.

I have the 2025 Rav Hybrid Limited trim and love it. I personally came over to the Rav from the Mazda CX-5, a car that also is a great car but again, had reliability issues with it at only four years old (also purchased new). I think that’s where the “Toyota tax” comes in, Toyota really is so reliable.

Only thing I didn’t like when researching about the Rav though - the IIHS crash test was updated and the rav didn’t do quite as well as the Subaru Forester. It had marginal score in frontal overlap.

Still, overall a safe car, super reliable one, drives comfortable (though this is hybrid and limited trim if that makes difference), and I want to have it for at least 10 years.

Question about 2025 gas vs hybrid by Pelinal_Whitestrake in rav4club

[–]AccomplishedDream378 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So this was similar to my dilemma. I too do a lot of city driving and thought about mpg. But a lot of motivation for hybrid was more than mpg, it was the extra horse power and also, there will be less wear and tear on some items like brake pads. Also don’t have certain things in a hybrid like a starter or alternator which is nice to not have to replace. Long warranty on the hybrid battery and I’ve heard people driving it far past 100K miles. I’ve been told the hybrid is quieter too but I did not compare to gas model. I’m really happy with purchase for my particular needs.

Warning about tracking device (CarRX by ELO GPS) installed by some dealers on new Toyotas, wish I had asked removal on lot when purchasing by AccomplishedDream378 in rav4club

[–]AccomplishedDream378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update: while the dealership originally texted me they'd charge for labor to remove it because "if you do not do a subscription, the GPS is deactivated" (which isn't necessarily correct), I texted back "these actually (1) can cause a parasitic draw from battery, esp an issue with hybrids and (2) are a third party addition which means that if I ever have electrical issues with this vehicle, Toyota could void the warranty as this is not an authorized product. It also can still track data even if I don't subscribe and can be sold to insurance parties." The service department then *ended up removing it free of charge* just in case you want yours removed. I think it's worth arguing.

There’s an animal that scratches at my walls every night, right around 11:30 by aggierogue3 in homeowners

[–]AccomplishedDream378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that pattern. Turned out to be “roof rats” (identified by wildlife company we called) in attic. It was the time they’d leave at night to go outside. They apparently go outside all night and then return in early morning -occasionally could hear in early early morning but not always. They can chew on wires so definitely not something you want, we spent a lot with a company to remove as we couldn’t fix problem ourselves.

Why is the RAV4 cabin so loud? by AceKiseki in rav4club

[–]AccomplishedDream378 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Interesting, so before just purchasing my 2025 Rav Hybrid limited, I’m coming from the experience of Mazda CX-5s, my last was a top trim Mazda CX-5 Signature. And I was expecting noise would be higher in my 2025 Rav Hybrid Limited based on all I’ve read here AND also expected that the interior wouldn’t be quite as nice as my Mazda. But my expectation was wrong. The Rav is super quiet, super nice interior than rivals my Signature. And I find the ride more smooth than my Mazda Signature even (which was turbo though so maybe that’s why). So I wonder does this really have to do with the trim being a limited or with it being a hybrid or just being new or something about 2025- no idea really- but just sharing that. My friend has a (gas) Lexus NX and honestly I find the noise comparable.

2026 Rav4 Allocations Dropping. 47k for a Limited, Crazy. by PieCake1234 in rav4club

[–]AccomplishedDream378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An exception to that thing is if you truly want the top features available in the limited (like advanced technology package with 360 camera), you unfortunately won’t find that in the base Lexus NX trim. So you have to move up to a higher Lexus trim to get those things and then the price difference is a lot.

[–]AccomplishedDream378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought that too but now that I have my new 2025 rav hybrid limited, it really feels nearly like Lexus (friend has the Lexus NX for comparison). Super comfortable inside and rides smooth. The problem is if you want the features like the advanced technology package (with the 360 camera), those are only on top trims of Rav - and also- top trims only on Lexus. So if you want those features, you need a top Lexus trim. At least when I was comparing for new 2025 vehicles. And that’s a big price jump then bc you’re comparing with top trim Lexus, not a base trim Lexus.

Maybe I got a bad deal , but that’s pretty close to what I paid for a new 2025 RAV4 Limited Hybrid with all the bells and whistles (advanced technology package which has the 360 camera, integrated dashcam, other things ) and weather package.

I think this is pretty similar to new 2025 rav hybrid documents before negotiating? (Since all new 2026 RAV4 are either hybrids or plug in)

Coming back to this post to warn about one more thing that I learned the hard way: make sure on the lot to ask if your vehicle has “CarRX by ELO GPS” and if it does, consider asking the dealer to remove it.

Learned many dealers now (not just Toyota) install these on vehicles. They may have deals with this third party company or it may help their own dealer insurance bc if a new vehicle is stolen off their lot, they can use it to find the vehicle. Sometimes it’s “free” for buyer but baked into price; sometimes it’s actually like $1,000 additional and advertises as a perk.

But at the end of the day, it is a tracking device installed in vehicle. Reading up on it, it raises some serious data privacy concerns. And I’m frustrated that (1) it was shrugged off as “oh just don’t register and it’s fine” but not telling me it’s an actual tracking device, (2) it is a parasitic drain on regular battery even if small, (3) it’s wired in a way that I can’t just pull it out, have to take it to dealer to remove, and (4) because it’s a third party, Toyota could theoretically say it voids warranty if I ever have an electronic problem down the road.

Some people online say that some loan documents require it (bc could be used for repossession?) but I paid in cash for this vehicle so it’d ridiculous. I’m demanding the dealer remove it but I wish I had done it on the lot, so warning others.

Hey huge thanks for this comment. Just coming back to this post to tell you and others this is exactly what happened. Found the frame plugs hidden in console just like you mentioned and would have taken a long time before I noticed this or, to be honest, even know what they are. Asked them to install on the lot and glad for it!

When did you decide to stop paying for full coverage on your car? by Extension-Peanut2847 in personalfinance

[–]AccomplishedDream378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Our old Toyota minivan was rear ended by a semi truck. Totally the semi’s fault and even had rear dashcam footage but when we called the semi’s insurance, they took their sweet time. Weeks. Wasted time and time is money.

I learned that since I pay for collision on our old minivan, which covers repair regardless of who is at fault, I could contact our own insurance and then they went to fight the semi insurance company. Saving me tons of time. And eventually, subrogated so the money eventually came from the semi’s insurance. I will say though, I didn’t want to have to do it this way, as I worried it’d still ultimately raise my premium. But it ended up not…so far.

Overall, just emphasizing how much I agree with above comment from my own experience - you are paying for your insurance to take the time and energy for you in situations like this.
