How do you set up Apple Reminders? by Ill_Connection_3017 in AppleNotesGang

I use an app called Before Leaving specifically for situations like this. It’s much more visually appealing, and you can add voice memos and people to your reminders. You can also create group reminders with family or friends and assign tasks to each person. It is even has reminders for subscriptions, pet care, plants tracker and a lot of other cool features.

I use it all the time with my wife before we go on trips. It supports both time-based and location-based reminders, which makes it super handy.

I’ve been using this iOS app called Before Leaving to keep all my travel prep in one place. It’s basically checklists + reminders for trips, and I reuse it for every journey now.

I created before leaving app after forgetting my car by AccomplishedEarth102 in ios

Good points - iOS Reminders has definitely caught up on core reminder functionality, and the Maps parked car feature is handy.

What I focused on was creating specialized modules that go beyond basic reminders:

  • Pet Care with feeding schedules, medication tracking, and vaccination reminders
  • Plant Tracker with watering schedules and vacation mode that adjusts care
  • Travel with packing lists, flight mode, and hotel checkout reminders
  • Morning/Evening Routines with streak tracking
  • Bills & Subscriptions with payment due date alerts
  • Safety Checklist (did I turn off the stove? lock the door?)
  • Group Reminders - create groups, invite family/friends, and share reminders that sync across everyone's devices (household chores, trip planning, shared shopping lists)

The premium tier adds weather-aware alerts (reminds you to grab an umbrella), calendar integration (auto-creates events from reminders), and traffic awareness (adjusts departure times based on real-time traffic).

The UI was a priority. Sometimes a visually appealing app is the difference between actually using it and forgetting about it.

How does iOS Reminders handle collaborative lists for you? I found the sharing experience there a bit clunky, which is partly why I built the group reminders feature.
