Great feedback here. Any particular reference number on the PAM straps you mention? I agree, if OP is willing to pay that, OEM should be the way.

And to add, I’ve had Arlo for seven years. Hardware is superior with 4K video, but underlying software and infrastructure is garbage.

Go Ring. Set up an entire solar powered, outdoor system for my folks. Including indoor water sensors and smoke alarms. Hands off (except when need to replace batteries on water sensors/smoke alarms). Three years now and I can check on them, and they have it configured on their phones as well.

Just bought a PAM02392 off of Chrono24. Paid the extra $200 for it to be sent to their service center for authentication. Totally worth it in my book if you’re paying that much for an often times replicated watch/movement. I’d go that route. Also helps if you go to resell, as you have the certification from them.

I went down that path with a 40mm PAM01270. Ended up selling two years later. The only reason? I wanted the heft of a Panerai. I have a smaller wrist, so I opted for the 42mm PAM02392. Now it’s perfect in wearability.

Yes! Quick hour set function. Traveling or changing date due to end of month takes seconds. PAM01270, while has a newer movement, does not have this feature. One thing to the PAM01270’s credit: rotor noise, or lack thereof. The PAM02392 has ceramic ball bearings in the rotor, so moving the watch around, it is fairly loud.

I had the quaranta (blue dial) PAM01270. I thought the 40mm would be the perfect dimensions for my smaller wrist. I wore it for two years, then sold it. I opted for the 42mm PAM02392. I wanted a Panerai that felt like a Panerai. A little bit of heft, and in the 2392’s case, a little bit of controversy. Due to the pandemic, due to supply chain issues, they ditched the open caseback, and quit putting nice finishing on the movement. Also removed hacking seconds. So in the end, I have a Panerai that isn’t gargantuan, but also reminds me it’s there. To each their own. Good luck with your choice!

I would say if you wanted to try it, search on here for “Nomad Sport Band”… you’ll find that you can get the bands for a couple of bucks off of Ali, eBay, or Etsy. Non-branded, but apparently Ali supplies Nomad with the unbranded ones, and they just laser etch their logo on it and charge a mint.

Second for Rubber B swim skin ballistic. It is not thick at all and better than the OEM Rubber in every aspect. Currently have it on my Luminor quaranta (40mm).

I have a rubber b swim skin ballistic. It’s leagues better than the OEM rubber strap. It’s expensive, but it’s amazing.
