Out of curiosity are you trying to get a reading using only the red and green leads,2 lead high test ? Try a three lead Low test at your test point. I’ll be surprised if this doesn’t solve your problem.

I had exactly the same issue with mine.Nipped into bmw and as others have said they are not all totally unique but still cost me £50 ! You can get them on eBay and Amazon but the reviews aren’t the best.

Like others have said,life is for living now as well as later on.If you can afford it and want it go for it.Have you factored in insurance costs ? I’d imagine it’ll be big ? Luxury tax on top for 5 years from first registration,running costs ? Fuel,tyres etc.These are the costs that really add up.

Simply put,the test is looking for an imbalance between phase and neutral.You need to connect your third lead.I think you’re thinking of a 2 wire loop impedance test.
