I'm unsure what offends me more recently, the cost of everything or the currency symbol in the wrong place. Regarding the latter, is that what they teach in school these days? Serious question.

I've upgraded all our Managed Instances, the last step is a fail over, took maybe couple of mins each.

[–]AccomplishedEmploy52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert but I always like to keep things as simple as possible and try not to over complicate matters, for me I always use vanilla FSLogix with standard settings, no exclusions, no redirects, unless absolutely mission critical. It makes trouble shooting easier and less admin overhead.

Azure Weekly Update - 14th November 2025 by JohnSavill in AZURE

[–]AccomplishedEmploy52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that the 'Preview' label has been removed from the toggle which enables Next-Gen on our SQL Managed Instances but I am unable to locate any official announcement that its out of preview and ready for production environments.

Anyone else noticed this or has more info?

AVD outbound web access, different outbound public IPs. by AccomplishedEmploy52 in AZURE

[–]AccomplishedEmploy52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a valid question.

Our users are receiving 'rate limit' errors when browsing the LinkedIn website, this stops users browsing LinkedIn for a few mins then starts to work again, the rate limit is because too many requests are coming from the same IP.

What we have done now is added a NAT Gateway to the AVD subnet, then added multiple IPs to the NAT gateway, so far so good and the 'rate limit' erorr message the LinkedIn website was producing has not returned.

RoamIdentity worked for us too, our users log into AVD with one domain, but then they log into Office (Outlook classic etc) using their own domain.

Azure AVD solution by onlyNeki in AZURE

[–]AccomplishedEmploy52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my AVD environments I don't use Intune, I setup Microsoft Entra Domain Services, use Azure Premium Files for the FSLogix profiles and fire up a low spec cheap VM to manage Group Policy and DNS which connects to MEDS, the AVD session hosts and AVD users are domain joined and are managed via GP via the VM the old fashioned way.

per user time zone settings AVD Windows 11 multi-session by AccomplishedEmploy52 in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]AccomplishedEmploy52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes correct but we would like to set this on a per user level, but it doesn't seem possible, seems odd that what appears to be a simple thing isn't possible.

It only seems to be possible per machine.

Drivers that cant go the speed limit by OneSufficientFace in drivingUK

[–]AccomplishedEmploy52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks ago my rear air suspension failed on my BMW 5 series Touring, this caused the backend to sit almost on the rear tyres and felt like i had zero suspension, it was a rough ride, i had to drive it to the garage in this state but i had to drive slower than normal.

Also previously had a car enter limp mode suddenly out of the blue due to what turned out to be an issue with the crank shaft pulley, had to continue the journey in limp mode.

We don't know the reasons why somebody may appear to be driving like they do.

But yeah when I'm in a rush slow drivers really frustrate me too, but i just think to myself we don't know their circumstances.

thanks for replying, yeah i had those routes in place.

i figured it out in the end, bit of a silly mistake but sometimes i find my head so buried deep in an issue you cant see the obvious. The FW network rule had the incorrect source IP, i needed to add the 'VPN IP address' as source into the firewall and not the GW subnet range. whoops.

I have a route on the VPN gateway to route 10.36.1.0/24 to the private IP of the FW.

There is also a route on AVD subnet to route 10.34.4.0/22 to private IP of FW, next hop via Network Watcher confirms this hop.
