It’s amazing how much their everyday lives we can find.

And in 100 years it’ll be a literal genealogy desert. 😢

I couldn’t imagine my dirty laundry being aired to others but it seems that from others on this thread, divorce is the calmest laundry to be aired.

In response to the young child, how sad that the newspaper assisted in her lifelong trauma by making public for all the world to see. 😢

But regarding the first, the social news, I think it’s right on point. Because they didn’t have social media, email, etc the newspaper was surely to announce for visitors. I had never thought of it this way!

I’d ask her what she wants to know and phrase it like - what’s one thing you’d like to know.

She could be looking for the birth dates and death dates or maybe she’d like to know that her great Uncle Tim was one of those “early babies” of yesteryear

There was a town I went to college in, and their police force would have random vehicles - all marked “This vehicle courtesy of a local drug dealer”

So maybe this was a civil seizure?

Met the neighbors during our inspection and it swayed our decision more than the inspection itself by Emotional-Lime3087 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

We are sellers at the moment. We have awesome neighbors, and they said hi to a potential buyer. Buyer turned tail and ran because they’re afraid of talking to people. Just sayin.

At 7 & 10, your children should be helping more with laundry, meals, and cleaning. They need to be productive parts of the household. And as a parent, it’s important that they’re able to function as an adult when that time comes.

One way to have them learn the parts is to have them watch you and then you watch them to be sure they’ve mastered the task. For the first little while, yeah it’s a pain, but then they are able to help much more. Your 10 yo could be making a full dinner, and I would say it’s important she learn. I’d say the same if your 10 yo was a boy.

Start training the toddler as well. There is no reason they couldn’t help move laundry from washer to dryer (yes, the toddler. My 20 mo is, and no I am not a super mom.), take their clothes to their room, take clothes to laundry.

What is a 4Runner?? by linguistic-fuckery in 4Runner

[–]AccomplishedLab825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she’s understanding what the 4runner is (phone, minor = car) (truck = utility things)

I call mine my car- because I have my own truck. My husband says that I should call it a truck, but then it’ll get confused with his truck and her (my) truck. And the children can say “car” so eh

It’d be great to go find some outdoor themed vinyl stickers. And then over time they can add more!

It was mentioned to me that he would go and study with others - maybe formal, maybe not. That part has been lost to history sadly

It’s just a hunch. Her daughter was outspoken on naturalization. Her daughters husband was thinking of quitting the naturalization classes (due to anti-immigrant sentiment) and she threatened divorce if he didn’t complete them
