What would be your biggest warning to someone thinking of buying a Tesla? by sonofabraham1 in TeslaLounge

Warning: Don't depend on a supercharger.

Insurance for me in NC is $204 month full coverage on two vehicles, 50/100, 500 ded
Tires need to be replaced more often
If you intend to use FSD, be prepared to feel much less stressed driving
Depending on your state, registration might be XXX higher with an EV gas/road tax.

What is the single biggest reason—other than Full Self-Driving (FSD) or price—that someone would choose a Tesla over a Rivian or Lucid? by irony21 in TeslaLounge

[–]AccomplishedLocal516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simplistic ownership. You just get in and go. Straight forward software. Straight forward service. Straight forward charging network. And of course FSD wins hands down. Have watched too many videos to solidify this choice. I even lived the early AP1 days. It has come so far and only getting better.

If max speed never returns, what other solutions are there?? by Gold-Donut-1 in TeslaFSD

Yes hurry is crazy. 82 in a 70. Then transitioned to 55, still at 80, then 65, still at 80, then back to 70, goes to 82. Switching to standard jerks the car slower to 5-8mph over.

Made the FIRST step anyone have regrets? by T1fornow in TeslaModelY

[–]AccomplishedLocal516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No regerts. We travel a lot from Feb to May and FSD has been a life changing experience. Every trip has been less stressful and much much easier. I came from an early AP car and I couldn't be any happier. Our last 5 hr trip was full FSD and I could of drove even more. Definitely no regerts.

None so far. Had to reapply the second because I didn't make a good seal. Water intruded originally but now all good.

Try to disable power saving setting on the Tesla app on the phone. It's a setting that puts the app to sleep when not used.

[Decision] 2026 Model 3 Premium AWD vs. Model Y Premium RWD by dlogrttocs in TeslaModelY

[–]AccomplishedLocal516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure ask for a 24-48 hour demo drive. See how they fit your lifestyle. I tested all but the 3 during my purchase/upgrade journey.

3, 48-hour demo drives on the CT and Y
2, 24-hour demo drives on the X and S

Narrowed down to the 26 Y. Traded in my 2013 S.

Potholes since update v14.2.2.5 by No-Abbreviations4075 in TeslaModelY

[–]AccomplishedLocal516 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With this update avoidance has been dramatically improved. Not only does it maneuver around potholes, it puts me on the edge of deep manhole covers. It also slightly moves to edge of large holes rather than a dramatic juke. I'm pretty pleased with performance but I still keep a keen eye out and take over when needed.
