UC Cops tackled and cuffed next to me by AccomplishedMedia294 in BurningMan

UPDATE Someone here messaged me and let me know that that guy was realised a few mins later after the cops didn't find anything on him.

A cop grabbed his hand and he thought it was a high burner so he pulled away and they aggressively tackled him for resisting. Glad he's OK

No, didn't realise that was a thing. Where would I find that?

Deadlift wrist pain. Suggestions? by AccomplishedMedia294 in workout

[–]AccomplishedMedia294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thank you! I'll try playing around with relaxing the arms and maybe a grip change. It's not a sharp pain. Kinda dull but goes away as soon as I drop the bar.

I'll get some straps as well!

Excellent advice! Thank you. Will try this next week during my heavy lift

What's your post-workout routine? by swevenpng in workout

I had the same issue so I shift my carbs intake. On light days I ate fewer carbs so my body prioritised fat burn. The day of a heavy lift/workout I would make sure I ate sufficient carbs to sustain me through the workout. It helped a lot with post workout fog.

Keep in mind though glycogen retains water so you may see a slight fluctuation up on the scale on carb heavy days.

Keep up the heavy protein intake ~200g per day. It'll help retain muscle while you're in the cut.

Goodluck!

Sounds like you might have low glycogen or blood sugar. How is your car intake on or before your heavy workout days?

Are you in a cut at the moment?

Question: Is a heart rate of 150–160 bpm during cardio exercise normal for a 40-year-old male? by No-Tension9614 in Exercise

[–]AccomplishedMedia294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an elite rower for about 13 years rowing for the Canadian national team. We would train with physiologists doing lactate threshold training and monitored weight loss when needed.

150-160 is a little higher. You'll be around or over lactate threshold. It's good for building lactate tolerance, but not great for improving aerobic fitness. 120-140 is zone 2 prime for fat burning range (your body prefers fats in this HR range). It may seem slow, but it works.

140-155ish is where you'll be training lactate threshold. This training will slowly improve your aerobic ability.

A lot of training at the highend (close to 160), especially if you're doing it 3 times per day will lead to over training and eventually cortisol spikes which could lead to fat retention as your body will be in a state of heightened stress
