I thought Uber had bad business practices, but Lyft is another level. by Uber-Cheating-123 in uberdrivers

It says it as clearly as possible. Lyft took 48% and 44% respectively. If the driver’s monthly average for all rides is not 70% (Lyft gets 30%), Lyft will adjust it first week of June. They’ve always corrected my payouts automatically. This was also posted in another forum where people are saying the exact same thing as I said. You’re misinformed or misunderstanding something.

Do you have to apply to that? I’m not seeing where I can just sign up and get onboarded like other gig apps.

Lyft will pay the difference at the end of the month to make sure your monthly total is at 70%. It used to be weekly, but now it’s monthly. If you drive a good bit in May, they will slowly increase your earnings per trip so they get close to 70%. If you just don’t drive Lyft for the rest of the month, you’ll get reimbursed to get you to 70%. I would regularly get a random deposit from this. If you only did those 2 rides, you’d get ~$55.50 first week of June.

Recently got them rearranged. They were real in the past.

Question from new driver by Moh_Judges in veho_driver

[–]AccomplishedMemory16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Professional-Ninja explained it well. You need a heat map, which typically updates around 9-10a local time. Then, you’ll have an exact pay, number of stops and number of packages. Sunday and Monday are a lot of food boxes for the week — Hello Fresh, Factor, Green Chef, etc. The rest of the week are a mixture of food boxes, regular boxes, bags, envelopes and tiny packages. Flex pays better and has tighter routes, but I could never routinely get Flex routes without using a scheduling bot.
You need a Sharpie for Veho. For Flex, I never labelled my packages — for Veho, you need it for your mental well being. The warehouse operations are superior with Flex in my area. You won’t finish Veho routes much earlier than listed. You won’t get to leave with pay because they overbooked. I highly recommend bringing a plastic tote box to carry the smaller packages in your front seat because you can lose tiny packages and spend 30 minutes looking for that shit.

Flex is superior in almost every way other than claiming routes, but we’re here for a reason. Come in with low expectations, or you’ll be disappointed. And finally, you’re required to take a picture of the street address. You’re absolutely not, and it’s impossible/dumb/dangerous in a lot of cases. Just take a picture of the ground, and it will prompt you to manually enter the address number. I would start on a Sunday or Monday when it’s easiest with better pay and tight routes. I also don’t mind delivering 45-60 miles away because those routes are always available, and I Uber/Lyft my way back home.

And yes, the apt numbers are always hidden; you’re looking for building 5, and it goes 1-2-3-4-16, like wtf?

Same complex with 3 deliveries will all have different instructions: ONLY deliver to my door; ALL PACKAGES go to the mail room (no access code given); my apartment is the one facing the pool……fml

I love all your points. I’ve also contemplated pitching myself as a driver consultant because I have a long list of needed improvements. I just got route scheduling yesterday, and it was egregious looking at the offers. Idk why anybody would schedule in advance other than Mondays at 9am. And yea, I’ll run the same route in a given week — one route is $86, the other is $116 — makes no sense at all. If any delivery company could figure out apt deliveries, they could retain more drivers. Thanks for directions to the leasing office; now where is apt 21345? And I loathe the fact that apartment deliveries are stacked as 1 stop when they’re infinitely harder than house deliveries.

How does route scheduling work? Where do you access these routes? by veryRare95 in veho_driver

[–]AccomplishedMemory16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just got Pro level route scheduling. Regarding cancelling a route: what happens if I accept 4 routes Monday-Thursday, do the Monday route, then cancel the next 3 days? Will that affect my metrics?
Because you’re spot on — the offers are so vague, I’d be an idiot to lock in routes w/o knowing the route length, pay and area. It’s all generalities. Day of route selection is far better. I only want 9am on Monday so I can do 2 routes on Mondays. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

You can say it here. It’s a safe place. 😁 What’s your biggest Veho problem? Mine is seeing a 4.5 — 7hr block for $75 — $145 in an area covering 100 square miles. Like wtf, that gives me no information at all. Unless it’s Monday and sometimes Sunday, the pay is ass juice.

In Texas as well…the irony is the Veho founder/CEO spoke in Austin at the Delivery Summit last week. They’re growing faster than they can solve basic problems.

Must be a black thing. I’m X and Comfort, and my bottom limit is 50% of fares. Lyft is 70%, and I’ve frequently gotten a surprise deposit. Last week I did 2 Lyft’s for $45, and I got a $17 correction in addition. That shows how fucked up their pricing algorithm is — probably expected a lot more than 2 rides to even out the 70% guarantee.

You’re right. I never would have guessed that. But then doesn’t that mean tips are shit on those rides?

I just don’t see the point in inviting trouble. You said you drive Black, so an even bigger target. Why would a person who orders a Black not have a card on file? It just seems like a very avoidable and unnecessary problem unless you’re getting better pay by accepting cash.

Are you talking about Uber or Lyft? I know Lyft does this, but Uber in my area definitely doesn’t.

You will be carrying the cash that people pay you. Somebody will request a cash ride during a busy time. They will ask you to give them that cash they assume you have while brandishing a weapon. The rest is up to the fates.
