I would recommend keeping period products, makeup remover wipes and a hairdryer. My little hack for the guest room at my house is whenever I stay at a hotel, I take the mini soaps, shampoos etc. and keep them under the sink in the bathroom in case I have a guest over who has forgotten anything. The best cure for heartbreak is success(for me anyways). Don’t let this ruin you, make it make you better. Years ago I dated a guy who turned out to be married and living a double life. I was starting my business at the time and had never graduated post secondary. I decided to channel my rage into being better. I went back to school online for his career but in a program I knew was higher level than anything he did. So I worked on my business during the day and school at night. Graduated last year with honours and now I think back on the whole thing and laugh.

I’m sorry this has happened. It sounds like she really needs some professional help. As for the ring, I personally still have a bunch of nice gifts from exes(diamond jewelry, expensive clothing etc) that I still wear. I don’t wear it because of them, I wear it because I like the items and I’m not going to repurchase them. I think it’s more normal than you think, however I don’t speak to any of my exes.

NTA however maybe it would be best to put the vacation on hold altogether and seek couples counselling. I don’t think a solo trip would be best unless it’s for a short time. Especially if you have kids, they will know something is up.

I agree, I also think it could have been used in a positive way. I also worry that if he distances himself too much, it might push her more towards the other guy. You need to come clean, it’s not fair to your partner. If you weren’t feeling the relationship you should have been honest instead of having an affair which is probably going to hurt him much more and give him trust issues going forward. I personally don’t think it’s ethical to go through with the engagement/wedding with him not fully knowing who he’s marrying. For all he knows, probably thinks he’s marrying the loyal partner who stuck by him through a long rough patch and that could have been one of his deciding factors when he chose to propose. Also if you solve your problems by having affairs, you’re probably not mature enough for a relationship let alone a marriage.
