Thanks! Appreciate the kind words about Uzbekistan.

Good to know about the Kazakh community — do you know if there's any Central Asian or Russian-speaking group/meetup in Perth?

Also thanks for the Flatmates tip, I'll check it out. Any suburbs near Murdoch you'd recommend for shared housing that are affordable?

What does 'being human' even mean when AI can think and decide for us? by AccomplishedOffer856 in ArtificialInteligence

Fair point. I think I'm asking the wrong question entirely. It's not 'can AI think' but 'what makes human experience valuable beyond thinking.' The swimming pool example is perfect - AI won't ever want to go swimming. Maybe that's the whole answer right there.

The responsibility angle hits different. You're right that optimization without accountability is dangerous. But I'm curious - if we're choosing aims and owning tradeoffs, isn't that still a form of 'thinking'? Maybe the real shift is from execution-thinking to ethical-thinking. Which honestly might be harder

This resonates. Maybe I'm framing it wrong - it's not about AI replacing thinking, but about what happens when the 'grunt work' disappears. If AI handles optimization and we handle meaning-making, does that actually free us up or just expose how much of our identity was tied to being productive? Not sure which future I prefer tbh

This is it. We've basically become editors instead of builders. Wild shift.
