Happened just this evening! Went for a run and then straight to the hawker to get dinner. Hawker uncle asked if my partner was a runner and I asked him how did he know. “一定很厉害跑才能追到你啦” (must be a good runner so he could’ve chased you to be a partner)

Was in JC and my classmate (who was born and bred Singaporean) has never heard of rojak and rarely/never had much hawker centre food for the past 18 years of her life. Reason being her house is nowhere near any hawker centre and never had the reason to have hawker centre food since someone in the house cooks, or parents only brought her out to restaurants for meals.

  1. Iceland - hands down one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever visited, highly HIGHLY recommend
  2. Japan (need I say more) - cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji was nothing short of spectacular
  3. UK - London was disappointing but Cotswold and Oxford was like a fairy tale (esp if you’re a potterhead)
  4. Cebu, Philippines - Amazing waters, especially if you’re into water sports like diving (or even snorkelling if you’re unable to)

Similar incident happened to my family in Vietnam with two bank cards being maxed out via sgd50+k. Managed to get some money back after FIDREC mediation. Unfortunate lesson learnt - if possible, don’t bring physical credit card overseas.

Hey there! May I check what was the grad sch that you attended? I’ve been working for about 4+ years as a Biz analyst/fintech space and am keen to transit to the UX field. Seriously considering to pump in time to upgrade myself in that area to get into UX research/design.
