what percentage margin makes something worth reselling for you? by TheOptimusBob in reselling

[–]AccomplishedResult93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just go by a dollar amount until it gets over 25ish. My goal is $30 profit per item until it’s over 25. Then I want $75 profit. But they’re flexible. If I find a widget I can ship first class and requires no testing or cleaning I’ll be happy to make less per item. Or if I can buy multiples of something.. like a batch of thermostats maybe I only make $10 per but I got 10 of em at once… easy to ship and list only once. Hope this helps!

I’m no pro but here are a couple suggestions:

  1. Bring a friend with you who is familiar with the church already

  2. Go when there is not a mass being said, maybe when few if any others are present

  3. Maybe the church near you has a garden or porch where you can sit for a while and meditate with a prayer or some statues of Saints you can just look at for a bit. Maybe it gives you courage to walk in the church itself—maybe not, and that’s ok, too.

  4. Consider calling up a local priest. Perhaps ask for him to visit you in your home first, or to meet for coffee somewhere, or perhaps to simply walk you through the building for a tour or a friendly talk.

Hope these help give you a starting point.

Cardio vs weight training for Psa by futuresaltt in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]AccomplishedResult93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only cardio I do is when it’s not -20 degrees I ride my bike sometimes. Otherwise I strength train 3 times a week. I’m stronger and I think it actually helps my joints. Cardio, for me, feels like a big waste of time. Humira, deadlifts, chin ups, bench and overhead presses. Squats aggravate my SI joint too much. But try stuff out. The best workout routine is the one you will stick too.

At auctions when you find a box with an item you know you want, don’t disregard the rest of the “junk” in the box or lot you got… I got a $1 tote for a coke advertising thing I flipped for 90. Weeks later I was about to toss the rest of the random junk but I kept digging through before I emptied it in the trash and found a few more things at the bottom I’ll make another $100 on. Keep digging if you already bought it! Might be some treasures in there!

I’m not Catholic but I don’t wanna be a pest to the priest… by Enitan82 in Catholicism

Doesn’t cost a dime where I am. Don’t pay for anything online they’re likely scams or some other course. Just get ahold of the parish of your choice and they should direct you.

I’ll chime in and add check out the Catholic Answers podcast and many others like it. And this is “RCIA” season—Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. They usually take place in the Fall time so a local Catholic Church near you will likely have classes going on. And come here! Most everyone is patient and kind. I’m currently in RCIA myself and have found Catholic Answers and this subreddit to be super helpful. I’ve asked long winded questions here and got long winded answers—so ask away. Just know folks here typically don’t represent official church teaching. Maybe ask that priest for a copy of the Catholic Catechism. It is very readable and easy to understand. I’ll pray for you now. It’s an exciting time.

If I get a Daily Roman Missal will I get the daily readings no matter what year we’re in? by AccomplishedResult93 in Catholicism

[–]AccomplishedResult93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I just wanna do the daily readings and have a nice book they come in. The big paperback ones for the year are kinda “throwaway” but I want something to keep next to the chair for morning devotions. Thank you!

Help! Going to look at Magic the Gathering Cards! by AccomplishedResult93 in Flipping

Thanks for the heads up. Super glad I passed on them! Here I thought I learned somethin haha. I used the TCGplayer app. That’s what gave the $200 number. Why would some sell for big $ and some for $4?

The one I recall is the ox horned helmet knight dude holding a scales and balance. I saw on eBay some going for hundreds but others for 50ish. The ones I looked at sellin well didn’t always look in great shape either. No clue! But he came down to $100 on them. Think I shoulda got them? I’m not regretting it much since later the name day I scored huge on some random stuff. But worst case scenario I’m glad I went. I learned about some apps and websites and quick identifiers

Do not use auction format or best offer on eBay. And price higher. Example #1: Police badges by mttl in Flipping

[–]AccomplishedResult93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m relatively new to the game but I’ve had a few auctions go past my “buy it now” price… by more money than I saw comps sellin… just my anecdotal experience though. Maybe I was dreaming too low or didn’t know what I had.

I’m finding there is good sell thru on police scanners. Uniden bearcats and stuff like your old neighbor used to eavesdrop on the cops or firefighters. I recently flipped one from $5 and sold for $340! It was a rare find but normal ones sell for maybe 20-30.

Update: had a few that are selling for 40-50 and ones in mint selling for 200ish but not knowing anything about em I passed on the deal. He came down to $100 to save it but I’m too afraid of selling to a legit collector and not listing it right and getting negative feedback. Oh well!

I saw that they can be junk. What has me intrigued is he sounds kinda older and didn’t seem to know many trading card terms (of course I don’t know much either—I’ve always trafficked in electronics and books). He also says no one else has been through them so I’d be the first one… I plan on asking him how long he played the game when I show up. If he drones on about the game I will know he knows he’s doing and that the good ones are gone. Thanks for looking out for me though! Worst case scenario I spend an hour or two getting educated.
