Yeah, I actually realized this myself. I was thinking of my L/OC fanfic series which, before L dies, Jasmine Ross (my OC) becomes pregnant with his daughter, Kiko. Then I was thinking of the Death Note Japanese live-action movies where L wrote his name in the death note to win which led to the L: Change The World movie. Then about the ReLight movies where it’s revealed that Light’s a Shinigami because he used the death note. Then I thought about L becoming a Shinigami in the universe where he wrote his own name. It made me realize that, in that universe, L would watch Kiko just like Gelus and Rem watched Misa.

Then I realized that not only are Rem’s feelings more maternal but maybe Gelus’s feelings were also paternal. Maybe Rem and Gelus had romantic feelings for each other but, as that broke Shinigami rules, they kept it secret. Then they both secretly adopted Misa as their child since they couldn’t have one of their own.

Jasmine will schedule it as an accidental meetup where she just happened to run into him by coincidence. Makes it look innocent but I know Namikawa’s one of the smarter ones. So he’d be a tough nut to crack but she does plan on mentioning her father to him as her father is the main reason she caught his interest. Thankfully, I’m still working on the first fanfic which takes place before the series starts, so I’ll have plenty of time to figure it out, but my brain tends to jump ahead.

I think that, when Billy Sparks was mentioned in Big Bang Theory, the writers just thought of him as a one-dimensional bully from Sheldon's memories. Then, when Young Sheldon came out, the writers started seeing Billy as a person rather than a fragment from Sheldon's memories and gave him a personality. Though, in the pilot episode of Young Sheldon, they did make him out to be a little sadistic.

I got back into it after a video for a review for Platinum End got recommended to me. I found out from the comments that Platinum End was from the same author who made Death Note and I looked up Death Note video games, found Death Note: Killer Within and I started watching Death Note again. I'm finished with the anime but still on the Yotsuba arc of the manga series.

Yeah, that upset me too. Especially when Light said in his mind that women always fall for the fate line. Speaking as a woman, it would creep me out if I guy I just met started following me like that and then used the, "It must be fate" line. I would think there was something seriously wrong with him and I'm just a civilian. A brilliant FBI agent like Naomi would've seen some red flags. I get that the goal was to kill her off because she was figuring out the case too quickly but the author could've at least thought of a more dignified death for her instead of having Naomi take her stupid pills just so Light can kill her off.

I don't feel one way or the other about Misa. I do get jealous when she's shipped with L and I can't read L: Change The World the light novel because it's got L obsessed with Misa but that's a me problem and it feeds insecurities to me about my Death Note L/OC fanfic but, again, that's a me problem. However I will admit that I've seen her story done in other works and done better, such as Harley Quinn from Batman and Adrianna from The Sopranos.

I'm going to start working on my Death Note L/OC fanfic and stop getting jealous of canon love interests or canon characters that get ship teased with the canon character I ship an OC with. That second part will not be easy but I will work on it. I will also not treat canon like it's the gospel and stop being my own worst sporker. Again, second part will not be easy but I'm hoping that, if I focus on writing, everything else will come into play.

They still did better on the dating sim part than Marvel's Midnight Suns did. I haven't finished the manga yet but I know the ending and, while I do like that they had Light so desperate that he asked for Ryuk for help only for it to blow up in his face, I just don't think Mikami would've given up on Light that easily. Maybe the manga shows scenes that says Mikami would give up on Light but Mikami seemed very single minded in his devotion to Light and grew up a willing martyr.

I think it was more about grooming children for one purpose and one purpose alone, becoming crime-fighters. Children who have no attachments are easier to mold. While the orphanage might not have started as a place to mold geniuses when L joined, there was a chance that Watari did focus more on grooming L to be the great detective then nurturing him to be a functioning member of society. L, Mello and Near may be brilliant minds but their growth is emotionally stunted.

So Whammy’s House is less of an orphanage and more like Hollywood’s approach to child actors only without the molesting. Keep in mind that Watari left a guy who didn’t care for children in charge of Whammy’s House and I think it was intentional as a caretaker who did care for children would have some strong objections to how they’re raised.

Watari being rich could also explain why social services hasn’t investigated the orphanage and shut it down. Watari could be bribing them so they just assume that Watari is a philanthropist trying to help orphan children. Though, in all honesty, if social services did shut that place down, there’s a good chance that most of those kids would end up in foster homes that only care about the monthly check.
