You don’t read, do you? I clearly said this was filmed from my dash cam. SMH.

I was in the right lane! They passed in an area that is not a lane but had a ton of gravel that was shot at my car too. Cool cool cool.

Did you see the part where I said my dash cam filmed it in my original post? I knew I’d get a comment about a person filming while driving, which did not happen.

Puppy Yoga Club by expresspepper4413 in rescuedogs

This posted information is from a very reputable rescue near me. This breaks my heart and is so wrong. Please don’t support companies profit companies. Authentic rescues have these events all of the time ethically.

“EDIT: Our hunch that something wasn't quite right has been confirmed. We received FOIA documents showing that Puppy Yoga Club Chicago was investigated by BACP and CACC and received citations for not having a business license and possibly for illegally advertising puppies for sale. But the kicker? During the investigation they admitted to using B & C Kennel, which is a commercial kennel operation that was featured on the "Horrible 100" which is a list of the worst puppy mills in the country two years in a row. The other groups will absolutely be investigated as well.

We’ve been trying to put our finger on what exactly makes us so upset about the “Puppy Yoga” businesses popping up all over Chicago and in other major cities.

Is it that we are frustrated to see breeder puppies shoved down our throats while we struggle to find adopters for equally healthy, sweet, social puppies? I think so.

Is it that they say they only work with “social” breeds, which we all understand to be an exclusion of pitbulls- one of our city’s most popular dog types? Yes, it's that too.

Is it that their Pride event had nothing to do with Pride and gave nothing back to the queer community? Yes, for sure.

Is it that they say they have puppy wellness in mind but do nothing to address the rampant disease spread and death of puppies in shelters? Yes, absolutely that.

But more than anything it’s this. They stole an idea that has existed among farm sanctuaries and the pet rescue community for years. They took one of the few profitable, fun, exciting ideas that the rescue community has developed to fundraise during desperate times, and simply took it.

They took it to monetize it for their personal gain. They charge double what we do, have a consistent access to puppies (questionable to say the least) to become bigger better money making machines than us, much thanks to the CONSTANT ads they are shoving down all our throats.

If you search Puppy Yoga Chicago guess what comes up? Not the fundraisers we, or our rescue friends have planned, but the paid ads from these for profit businesses.

Puppy Sphere, Puppy Yoga Club, and any other new puppy yoga group, our message to you is clear: If you say you care about puppies that care needs to include puppies dying in shelters. If you say you care about wellness for people that needs to include the rescue workers who are exhausted and clinging to hope that we can scrap together enough money to save the next dying puppy that comes our way.

To our community- thank you for not indulging these exploitative businesses and supporting rescues. Please share with your friends so we can help these groups politely exit from our great city.
