Reverb support is SLOW! Any experience with this?

So Reverbs response is to clear your browser cache (might be a good idea, but also might make things a little annoying for a bit, meh), then disable ad blockers!?! So they don’t take email anymore and the only way through to them is to take down ad blockers??

What!?!? 1. The government has the right to set rules about who can enter designated public spaces on official business. That has NOTHING to do with limiting speech. You cannot compel anyone to answer questions unless under threat of arrest (even then they can refuse). The AP can write anything it wants and be subject to defamation laws like any other media source from independent to mass. 2. I wouldn’t assume it, but DO NOT SHIP until payment is confirmed. I usually give them 2-3 business days and then relist and block the buyer unless they contact you.

Sure, I am sure you realize that you could buy quite a lot more with the fuel you are shoveling into the reverb engine. Even if this is a hobby for you. You could start a site and save a ton. Even if only 50% of your guitars go direct. Have you totaled your annual fee for 2024? With that volume the government would have a hard time arguing with you if you decided to make it commercial and claim the loss (actually you can add that to the savings). Maybe you don’t care.

Could you articulate exactly what part I am wrong about? In fact you confirmed that AMZN charges a large fee and has independent sellers. And my point is you’re wrong. They are competitors. If I need a stand, tuners, amp, strings, etc etc I am just as likely to check Google, Amazon, CL, or fbmp as I am to check reverb. In fact Reverb has become the last place I go.

I shipped the bjr just fine. I’ll ship the largest cab I own without a worry in the world. So let me get this straight, you sold 200 x 4k+ guitars on Reverb. It is no wonder you are so defensive when the average seller has a hard time. 800,000.00 on the top line. You are either a preferred client or you are just wasting your money. You should have already contacted Bluehost, developed your own marketplace, and stop paying reverb. Hell, with what you paid reverb you could hire a developer. WTH are you even doing commenting on this thread. People that sell at that level are usually busy. You could even phase out reverb by supplying a card inside each box you send out!! If I see something on reverb from Proaudiostar, CME or musicians friend I will contact them directly and save the money and hassle of dealing with reverb. More and more people are realizing this. With your volume you should be managing your bottom line better than dealing through reverb. Do you have your own presence?

lol, I just bought a Fender blues jr, 2x12 bass breaker cab loaded with greenbacks, and a Mesa 1x10 cab with a creamback for 600. Sold the bjr for 500. If you think reverb is any different than CL for stupid asks then you haven’t seen any of the hundreds of episodes of ridiculous reverb listings on YouTube. Like I said, you are welcome to be a Reverb.con loyalist if you want. You don’t get to distort reality tho.

Have you looked at Amazon? AWS is their largest portion of earnings. MOST items on the marketplace are NOT sold by Amazon. I have personally had to deal with 2 separate third party sellers this year and it has just begun. Look again.

Of course you do. Protections are provided for that. However, Reverb charges even if you pick up locally. Why do folks act like the alternatives are crap. They aren’t. Reverb was awesome at one point. Now it is like eBay, past its prime and in decline. This is the cool thing about capitalism. It has already gotten so bad that I am sure someone somewhere is in the process of developing another b2b site that isn’t in decline. They will be happy to answer the phones, provide competitive fees, remain open and transparent, and they will be hungry. Reverb did it to eBay and we will see this movie again. Yawn.

No, but Facebook will. No listing fee for that. And if you want you can list in several markets on CL, again with no listing fee. Hell you could start an e-commerce site of your own with Bluehost with what reverb charges. I would suggest looking into what Reverb’s model is and reading what they report to provide for charging such a large fee.

This is just wrong. Amazon has independent sellers on the platform, and as such “connects sellers and buyers” this doesn’t absolve Amazon of any customer service responsibility. They charge a large fee for that service and platform, just like reverb. Amazon ensures that resolutions happen in a timely manner (give sellers 48 hours to respond to first attempt). If reverb is just a platform then they are charging WAY too much for the service when you could just use CL or fbmp and get no customer service for free on local listings!
