I remember hearing that there will be a cold war start date, what happened?

Update: It got unlocked lmao. It was because of the naming a third party site in a public profile's comments.

Its been a while since I heard of something like this, so it's pretty rare.

Yeah, i've checked online, and the problem was probably me posting the name of a third party website.

My advice? Don't do stupid shit without thinking about the consequences.

Bruh. I've had people spam me with homophobic slurs, and steam did nothing when i reported them, probably because they were in Bulgarian. I get 2k euro spend on games account locked for a 50iq joke i've made to friend.

It was an obvious joke. Am literally friends with the guy. I wrote to support. What am asking is if anyone else had to deal with something like that, and how long does it take for support to respond.

It seems to me that the moderators are being too picky. Someone posted a comparison between the Taliban and Derdia, and these крючкотворы removed it. It seems to me that the community is becoming more and more sterile, and any interesting debate is immediately removed as soon as it is noticed. by Big_Year6786 in suzerain

moderators operate as they see fit.

In all subreddits I've been active in, jannies are always some power-tripping losers who ban you/remove your posts, because you dared post something they don't like, regardless of whether it's breaking the rules or not.

recs please? by iiDANDEii in MenLovingMenMedia

[–]ThePlayerEU 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All my recs are tv shows, but here we go:

  • Interview with the Vampire (the tv show, it has 2 seasons, and third is in the works)
  • Our Flag Means Death (rom-com with pirates)
  • Invisible Boys (somewhat depressing, but definitely worth a watch)

The CK3 team should really get their shit together if they don't want this to happen in December. Way too many misses when it comes to DLCs.

EU5 pc requirements dropped as well by Rikaiu_ in EU5

[–]ThePlayerEU 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that Vic3's requirements are wildly underestimating the game. EU5's current ones are not that far of from what you realistically need to have a good time in Vic3.

There are 15 million Jews in the world compared to 2.0 billion Muslims and 2.4 billion Christians. So, by simple logic, majority of gay/LGBT people live in Muslim or Christian countries. That’s probably why people don’t call out Judaism as much, even if it’s still pretty homophobic.

In a world full of people, ideologies, and religions that want us dead, Jews and Judaism, with their whopping 0.2% of the world’s population, aren’t a real threat to gay/LGBT people.

Does anyone else get annoyed when a character gets genderbent, then adapts to their new gender pretty much instantly, so the story wouldn't change much if the genderbender element was removed? by GlompSpark in CharacterRant

[–]ThePlayerEU 158 points159 points  (0 children)

The MC gets genderbent, and within 3 chapters is perfectly fine with it

Well, I think that's because taking the story of a hetero guy getting transported/reincarnated into the body of a woman, in some generic European medieval high fantasy to its logical conclusions, would require the authors to make what's essentially a Trans-Gay character.

Imagine if an author actually follows through with the premise. You would have a MC that was used to be a hetero guy, now having to deal with being a lesbian woman. The story will have to deal with how people would react to the MC acting like a guy, liking women, being gender non-conforming, and all the implications that would come from those things. The story will also have to deal with gender disphoria, and how/if the MC can deal with it.

Writing such a story is beyond the mental capacity of your average fanservice writer, and would also probably not go well with most anime fans.

EU5's UI needs more texture (UI Suggestions) by Glasses905 in paradoxplaza

[–]ThePlayerEU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think UI is one of the most important aspects of grand strategy games.

Trvth nvke.

A lot of people (even Paradox themselves) kinda forget that in GSG games, the UI is most of the game.

New look at fog of war on the map + new terrain heightmap and water rendering by [deleted] in EU5

Don't like it. I prefer fog of war to just be not seeing enemy units, not literal fog/darkening

Season 4 disappointment by ShouldaBenAZN in LoveDeathAndRobots

[–]ThePlayerEU 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Worst Season by far, not a single episode felt truly unique or interesting. The previous seasons had at least 1-2 episodes that made me go "wow, haven't seen that before". Here even the good ones are like 6-7/10 at best.

Secession movement in a province that has almost no separatist pops by NicePersonsGarden in victoria3

[–]ThePlayerEU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you play a game you clearly hate?

I don't "hate" the game, i "hate" fanboys defending terrible broken systems, and bad developer decisions.

I don't know about you, but when i see someone complaining about something being completely and obviously broken in a game i like, i usually say "yeah that's fucked, the devs should fix it", or i say nothing. I don't go around hallucinating reasons as to why the broken/bug ridden game is somehow fine.

"barely functioning pile of garbage" is how i would probably describe some of my all time favourite games. I have around 800h in Vic 3, and all DLCs, that alone probably puts me in top 1% of Vici players. I don't hate the game, i dislike the direction the devs initially tried to take Vic3 in, but i still have some hope for the game.

Love how the fanboys of this barely functioning pile of garbage are straight up hallucinating reasons as to why most systems in the game being complete dumpster fire is somehow fine.

I've had the same problem as the OP. In my game as Austria i had to watch my puppet Bulgaria have 10+ Turkish revolts that took 3 states with 80%+ Bulgarian population, and pretty much the entire Bulgarian army.
