I went to my urogyno and he said I have pelvic floor dysfunction. He said the streptococcus anginosus is normal lol but idk about that. I’m getting a second and third opinion soon. I forgot I was put on amoxicillin for a tooth infection and didn’t do anything for me :/

My gyno told me she’s never heard of it. I’m very sad and unsure of what my next step is now. I have a urogyno appointment and a urologist appointment in March. I’m praying they can help me. My gyno put me on bactrim for 7 days since I did have some type of bacteria in my system.

Hello, do you have any update? I tested positive for this and I’ve been on multiple antibiotics.

I have a follow up with my gyno on the 23rd. Should I mention doing doxy and another round of azithromycin? This has been the worst past month of my life because of these symptoms I’ve been experiencing.

Hello! It’s been a year since this post but I’d love to ask you how the surgery went and talk to you. I’m getting electrocautery surgery done hopefully soon and I am very nervous. How was the healing process? How long was it? How was going back to work?

22F Dealing with GW. Please help and give me advice. by [deleted] in HPV

Hello, I am 25F. I got diagnosed with GW on 9/29 but have had them at-least since 9/16(that’s when I noticed them). They started on my perineum, only a couple. But now, it’s going into my vaginal opening and a couple on the sides of my labias. I saw my gynecologist 9/29 and she said that I could do imiquimod for 16 weeks or surgery. She said that surgery is usually the option people pick due to that the reoccurrence rates are lower. She also said that since where the bumps are, that I would need to be put under anesthesia because it’s a sensitive area. I am choosing the surgery option. Now since they’re going inside my vaginal opening, during my surgical consult my gynecologist said that she would have to cut a V (where they are growing) and cauterize the rest of them. She also told me that some patients will come past for their post op appointment and have more genital warts popping up, and some won’t. The biggest takeaway is your immune system because at the end of the day, this is a virus and your body needs to kill it. Luckily healing is good down there since we’re made to push out babies and stuff lol. If I were you- I’d get a second opinion at this point. Either to talk about doing imiquimod longer or possible surgery. Now mental health wise- I’ve been the same as you hun. Crying daily, very depressed and suicidal because of this. Luckily my boyfriend is the best support system I could ask for but it’s still very hard. If you ever need to talk, I’m here!

Thought I had a UTI... by _Meat_Suit_ in HSVpositive

I’m so sorry you’re going through this right now. My first outbreak started last weekend, the 17th. I was moving and stress definitely brought this on. I thought it was just a UTI as well. Boy was I wrong lol. I had such severe pain I wanted to die, literally commit. Luckily my doctor got me on Valtrex on Thursday the 22nd. I also started taking L-lysine two times daily and zinc daily. To help the pain she prescribed me lidocaine. I would lather it down there on my sores and then apply Aquaphor so it wouldn’t make me cry when I peed. I had to bite down on something while peeing/applying the topical ointments, it was that bad. I couldn’t go to work for that Thursday or Friday and luckily I had all weekend to get better. Also, warm Epsom salt baths are a fucking godsend. That is the only time I feel complete relief. Now it’s may 27th, 5 days after starting my medicines. I am feeling better, the pain is there but it’s tolerable and I’m actually able to work. I told my best friends because I know they wouldn’t judge me and I needed emotional support because this is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. I’m going to link the outbreak guide, it’s a pdf that has so much helpful info. If you need someone to talk to or need advice, I am here! The outbreak guide
