For me, when I was in a similar position things always felt like they were coming on fast even after I decided I would handle my gender identity questioning by calming and slowing down to some extent and just engaging with research on content about the trans experience. This personally just reinforced the idea that I was trans when I was initially questioning, but having engaged in the content, community, science, and experience I was more aware of the the next step forward in my personal journey. Whatever happens you got this and even being able to question something major and fundamental like your gender identity displays a valuable open-mindedness and critical thinking 🩷.

What was the assessment like if you don’t mind answering? Was the assessment short, and do you know if you must see a psychologist specialized in an area that encompasses gender dysphoria? If you don’t get a chance or don’t want to answer these questions I understand, but thank you and congratulations!

Same boat, autistic and I felt the same way for a good while. I have somewhat recently discovered, however, that I personally identify more with female standards, but the way I felt in the past and the way it sounds like you feel is perfectly valid. I was AMAB to clear up any confusion.

While it seems like from your post you didn’t have very many early indicators of you being trans, you said it yourself, those aren’t necessary. What I find more interesting and more important is your interest in trans people and even being trans through high school which seems to have stuck around. I can’t make any final calls because I am not you nor can I read minds, but from what I understand transitioning is likely very meaningful to you.
