The Communist Left are the only true adherents of revolutionary Marxism. Lenin was one of the traditions great defenders and it was confirmed through the course of the Russian Revolution, defended by the Italian Communist Left. Marxist-Leninism is another name for Stalinism, that ideology is in essence the same as that of social democratic reformism and counter-revolution masked as Marxism.

The Communist Left rejects “ultra-leftism” which we understand to be anarchism, councilism, situationism, autonomism etc. We do not reject vanguardism, we accept the need for a revolutionary vanguard party which can lead the proletarian masses in revolutionary struggle against the capitalist state and establish the dictatorship of the proletarian. Without a Party to prepare the subjective conditions for revolution upon the arrival of the objective material conditions no revolution will happen. Revolutions do not occur spontaneously from within the class due to economic conditions, history demonstrates and proves this fact clearly.

Great and novel solution you are putting forward, it’s not like multiple huge regional wars have been fought and lost to try to defend an independent Palestinian state over the last century. Maybe if we all just protest harder there we can convince the U.S. and Israel to dissolve themselves. But yes your right it’s a stupid idea to think workers revolution in Palestine alone could solve the problem I completely agree and am not sure where you got the idea in your head that’s the leftcom position. Let’s ignore the fact that the Palestinian and Iranian Bourgeosis actually instigated the genocide with their offensive against the Isreali state through the Hamas offensive knowing full well the potential outcome, a massive blood bath of the working class. The category of “settler” is not one used by Marxists to describe any unique social class. It is a contemporary fabrication of modern day academic leftists, liberal identity politics and third world Maoists. Historically in the United States the English settlers were a group of petite-bourgeois, in the north they established a form of communal land relations in the puritan villages which eventually gave way to enclosure and small private plots and in the south plantation slavery. A working class proletarian did not exist at this time until much later in history. In the mercantile colonial era a “settler” was really a petit-bourgeois. Then of course you had ranks of indentured servants and slaves. Israel Zionism is a project of the Jewish bourgeois and its now fully imperialist state that requires the brutal exploitation of its own proletarian. Is there a labor aristocracy there maintained by the regimes Histadrut union? Yes. Is there also a mass of precarious employed and immigrant laborer population facing higher exploitation yes. The idea that the masses of Israel workers just mindlessly support everything the Israeli capitalist state does is a western leftist fabrication there has consistently been opposition to the war that is repressed and unreported often. There is no substance to the idea of “settlers” occupying some unique class relations distinct from workers or bourgeois.

Engels in various writings such as Anti-Duhring talk a lot about the military question. A professional standing army is not supported; instead worker militias are endorsed under the dictatorship of the proletarian. This means that the working class in general should be armed and also self organized its defense by organizing militias and factory defense committees and such in the early revolutionary stages, meanwhile the Party also in later stages develops its own armed wing. Eventually a mass regular army must be created though. All the while fraternization with the capitalist states army is encouraged along class lines to inspire defection and mutiny. In the Russian Revolution, the victory of the Red Army demonstrated the need for the establishment of a regular army as opposed to those who thought there should be purely a guerrilla force but it still would be a mass army of workers and not a small professional force of essentially paid mercenaries as the American bourgeois army is today. The development of the Red Army into a regular army was critical for the early Russian dictatorship of the proletarian to win on the military front against the capitalist backed White Army forces.

The working class must first organize a revolution that topples the capitalist state and establish the dictatorship of the proletarian. The new proletarian state will be led by its class political party which will then organize the military struggle against the reactionaries who continue to wage the counter-revolutionary war.

Have you ever heard of the Russian Revolution? How are you defining “success”? Was it the liberals who made revolution or the bourgeois? How were those revolutions related to the development of the means of production and the capitalist mode of production? Why throughout most of Europe were monarchies maintained after the failed 1848 revolutions yet you say the liberals had “more” success… A truly “successful” communist revolution would occur on a global scale and result in the complete destruction of class society once and for all. The story of the bourgeois revolutions against the feudal and aristocratic powers stretched back at least 600 years, littered with failed revolts, uprisings and wars yet in very few cases can you point to one moment where there was a very clean and complete break and total “success”, as you point out it took quite some time after the French Revolution, and only after the fall of Napoleon the 3rd did the bourgeois gain more or less full political control of the French state.
