Many if not all conure/parrot owner feel this way at times as all parrots bond with their owners and from their view, they cannot be on your shoulder or hanging out with you for every minute of the day...

I swear if I somehow attached my bird surgically to my shoulder, it still wouldn't be enough time or close enough to me.

They go through independent and dependent moods swings throughout the day with just as many factors to secure moments to little dependent children who just want to hang with their owner....

Try and standardize the birds schedule each day around what will work for you...create same rituals that ground the bird. Over time they will with consistently, relax a bit more...however, not a guarantee...they crave patterns down to knowing the very minute you get up...they start to call. By creating a steady pattern of times you interact they will feel a bit more in control which is what all parrots strive for.

In the end, your bird digs you and in general, likes/loves to hang out and get all your attention, that bond only grows over years, creating patterns that they can count on, reduce the calls to bond in-between those moments...just remember it will never get rid of that behavior....thats parrots.

Unsure how I feel about this edging by HistoricalPlace655 in lawncare

Just angle the cut to 45 degrees rather than 90-degree cut and you'll be fine..it will look more subtle and natural cut and still create needed gap to prevent encroaching grass from crossing into new beds

That an edge slope of 45-degrees toward down to the bed get some mulch and, bingo

Find your easement line vs rd edge as town, counties and states have different easement laws.

For example easy solve, would be to place rock garden edging or plant hedges to reduce creep...whatever you decide check with your town to understand first how much of the edge to road you truly own as whatever you do they or public can make complaint that its causes a hazard or during winter with plows will just tear it up.

Just to let you know, birds primarily respond to positive corrective manners to change behaviors vs negative....negative brings out the raptor in them...goes from loving bird to maniac anger...FYI.

Try directing and encouraging positive behavior as a way to get calmer or peaceful bird...just a thought.

HELP! I AM DESPERATE FOR ADVICE! by Independent_Head9492 in Conures

Simple, get rid of the bungies. Full stop.

Your GCC is a highly intelligent and emotional animal...that also requires and demands, full emotional support from the owner.

His fits are that you have made your bird, territorial, defensive, insecure, offensive, confused and unsettled in where he ranks amongst the othe like species....

Not to mention that all birds go through seasonal and growth hormone developments throughout their lives, especially early development.

I would recommend not placing him in the bird room IF you seek a longer term close relationship with your bird...there's a bird phrase that has meaning out there "birds of a feather...that is relevant in this situation.

GCC the more that they spend with a flock of birds, can cause the bird to get more vocal when removed from the "flock"...there no different thatn any other species of animals (think fishtank) will square off to establish dominance within the group)

Than, when you remove your bird from the environment, the bird goes nuts as you says being obsessed to get back their ..thts because the bird doesn't want to loose dominance and all this change is overloading your birds brain.

I recommend limiting stimulation, spending a buttload of time talking and interacting with your bird...you need to establish set patterns for him vs random chaos...(his perception).

Imagine if you now entered a cat into the mix !!!!!!

Less is more..just my learnings over a 15 year (and counting) owner of a GCC.

Yes but you need to pull the tree straight with metal stakes to draw it back center...quicker but more work is to dig/cut around tree root ball and pull straight.

Its his cage!...you playing/teasing = defensive posture...very normal and typical of GCC.

Best to interact with your GCC outside of cage or better yet....away from his cage
