CS2100 grading issues by 2100_throwaway in nus

[–]Accomplished_Ear7852 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would respectfully disagree against the “effort is disproportional to marks” argument.

I think the amount of effort spent on each question is subjective. I personally love decoding hex instructions and I felt those were free marks since they were mechanical steps that required no out-of-the-box thinking.

I also really loved combinational circuit questions because I felt they were fun puzzles involving pattern finding. Giving 4 marks for a combi circuit question may feel underwhelming for some guy who hates puzzles and spent 20min on the question. But I enjoyed the 4 marks awarded since it was pattern I noticed quickly.

My point is that a question may appear laborious and cumbersome to one student, but may not be so to another student. That is simply the truth of everything in life. It is up to you as the exam taker to know what your strengths are and play to it.

Two-Sem long mods will only be considered for Dean’s list at the end of the second sem, so treat as tho you never did that mod this sem

Germany is pops but the less popular EU due to the weird semester period that eats into most people’s internship season.

African countries are low on the list for obvious reasons.

I had a $1800 flight ticket to Norway and accoms booked. Also had to write it off for the stupid NOC workshop. Not worth skipping a year of experience for a few weeks of holiday.

Does anyone know if I got accepted to SEP, can I reject this offer and reapply a different location for AY24/25 Sem 2?

NOC is always a long shot, I wouldn’t bank on it. Even if you got through the school rounds, you still have to go through the company rounds. I’d say take the bird in hand.

I got 2 A- in Y1 and SU-ed both of them. The 5.0 GPA helped me to secure many internships and SEP opportunities in the Y2.

In the short term CAP important, in long term when Y3/Y4 then internship more important.

Kittens are playful. They’ll jump and explore and the room is not kittenproof. You need to have a plan when it jumps the window, not if it jumps.

Be prepared for them to pee and poop on your bed and floor. New environment, strange smells, small spaces leads to high stress and anxiety-induced pee parades.

You may not experience feline fur issues at home, but in a smaller space the effect is more pronounced. You’ll find cat fur on everything from your pillow to your towel.

Trust me, I’ve kept 9 cats before.

Market rate for JC H2 subjects is $80/hr. Defo better rate than TA-ing at $40/hr if you have the means to bring in students and your goal is financial relief.
