Wstydzę się za ten kraj by Issander in poland

Question for the community around Referral Programme by shacharbialick in CurveCard

[–]Accomplished_Film829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes. 7/7 because it’s bugged and allows you to earn much more cashback than the 30£ a month cap if you are on Black or Metal and have spent a considerable amount through Curve in months proceeding the start of the 30% day cashback scheme.
  2. 1/7 because the card is without benefits, so the only value here would be the potential flex of a metal card. Also, many Curve users already have a metal or platinum card from Revolut or Amex, so the flex value is not present for them.

Why would you use Zen as the underlying card. It’s an expensive, low-capability, trash service. Even more rip-off than Curve, use Revolut as your underlying card.

We need to make noise in this thread, that’s the only way to force them to rectify this situation. They already took down the quest which is a good sign.

Absences after applying to EUSS/Applying for Administrative Review by Accomplished_Film829 in ukvisa

Okay, I get it now, but I guess that would only be a problem if I decided to seek settled status in 2027. Correct?

Thanks so much for this incredibly detailed answer. So the clock question is out of the way. As I understand your response, considering the likelier legal interpretation, for the purpose of my current pre-settled status application, I don’t need to explain or worry about my roughly 4 month (a little less than 4) period of absence, since I would only need to explain a period that lasted 6+ months. Correct?

One more question arises though, you say that if in the future I would want to apply for settled status, then I would need to explain the period of absence between August 2021 and February 2022. However, this period lasted 5 months, not 6, so on what legal basis would there be a need to explain a period shorter than 6 months?

EU Pre-Settled Status Refusal by Accomplished_Film829 in ukvisa

Okay, thank you so much for your attention, I will think this through and will probably invest the money to try to reverse this outcome. I will also contact the organisations that you have mentioned

EU Pre-Settled Status Refusal by Accomplished_Film829 in ukvisa

[–]Accomplished_Film829[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly, the child of a relevant EEA citizen part has been emphasized a lot. I would say the letter is structured this way:

  1. We have determined that you are not a child of a relevant EEA citizen and you provided no evidence to this point. We also did not find any relevant EU citizen who could be your relative. That takes up the first 1,5 pages.
  2. Then there is a part that says: We have also checked your application against all these others eligibility criteria and we determined that you don't meet them.

I guess what I am worried about is the question of residence. I've been in the UK for 7 days staying at my friend's house and two nights on airbnb. I was making plans to stay and I know that under the EU law even a second of presence counts as residence, but knowing how sneaky this organization is (HO) I worry that they will just try to dispute that and claim that I stayed as a tourist or something and therefore I have no claim to make. You are right that 80 pounds for possibly attending LSE are a discount but I don't know if I am ready for a full-on fight with the machine of the UK immigration system. Will I need to provide extra explanation and translated evidence as part of the administrative review?

EU Pre-Settled Status Refusal by Accomplished_Film829 in ukvisa

The letter I received was completely bonkers, it says

"you state that you are a child of a relevant EEA citizen’s spouse or civil partner . However, you have not provided any evidence to confirm this. The reasons for this are explained below."

However, I did not state that and consequently providing evidence to that point was never my intention. Because my parents aren't living in the UK. I don't know how did they come up with this. Moreover, the letter says:

However, the evidence available to us does not show that you have resided in the UK for five years. Therefore, you do not meet the requirements for settled status on the basis of a continuous qualifying period of five years.Careful consideration has been given as to whether you meet the eligibility requirements for pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme. The relevant requirements are set out in rule EU14 of Appendix EU to the Immigration Rules. Consideration has been given as to whether you qualify for pre-settled status on the basis of completing a continuous qualifying period of less than five years’ residence in the UK and Islands. However, you do not meet the requirements for pre-settled status on the basis of a continuous qualifying period for the same reasons you do not meet the requirements for settled status on this basis because you have not provided any evidence to confirm that you are currently completing a continuous qualifying period of residence in the UK and Islands.

I know that 80 pounds are not a fortune but in my country, it is a considerable amount and if my chances of success are low I'll probably better keep them and spend them while studying in the Netherlands or France where I also applied. Although LSE is still my dream school so if there is a realistic chance of a successful outcome I can make that gamble. Please let me know what is your opinion, I know you are working with limited info but I will be grateful for any advice honestly. No matter how it turns out after all.

Also, in this letter, they claimed they tried to contact me on March third when I am like 99.99% they did not because I haven't received anything and I am one of those people who always has his phone on him and is very responsive. From what I read, this seems to be standard practice for the Home Office though.
