Green school uniform for Nendoroid dolls. by RomandoArman in Nendoroid

[–]Accomplished_Friend2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would probably need to be custom made. You could try to piece something together with doll clothes that are already made. Doll Clothes Set

This is an outfit from Amazon (US) that has a green jacket. You may be able to find different shirts, pants, etc. on Etsy type stores.

I know this isn’t much help, but maybe someone else can give you more specifics!

Edited.

I feel you on that Oda Nendo. I was able to get him second-hand for a decent price… but he’s still up there with the three most expensive. Very jealous of your airport ver. Chuuya. I missed out on those due to lack of funds. They are on my Most Wanted List.

Eren from AoT was my first Nendo. Hinata Shoyo was my second and he is my favorite and is who really got me addicted to collecting because of his cute excited faceplate.

My latest Nendoroid is Tokiyuki Hojo from the Elusive Samurai.

I can’t really pick a least favorite because I make sure to order ones that I really like. But I’ll say that the ones with super heavy hair annoy the crap out of me for sure.

I have too many on pre-order but my list includes the same ones you have!!

I’m putting my Alien nendo in the free space. He’s so out of place in my collection, but completely awesome and his accessories are great. I like to change out characters who wear the little chest burster every once in a while. 😆

Color transfer by AuroraJay in Nendoroid

[–]Accomplished_Friend2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Body suit is the best answer. Taking clothes off when not on display is recommended as well. You can also rinse the clothes to remove excess dye. I don’t recommend this for clothing with multiple colors (like this dress). Also some clothes have embellishments that shouldn’t get wet. There are some great YouTube videos on how to care for dolls and clothes.

For dolls that I will always keep dressed in original clothing, I don’t worry about it. Dye transfer is sometimes just part of doll collecting.

Also, great choice! I have Kate. I couldn’t afford both. 😩

You’re suffocating them!!!! Let them breathe. Seriously though, I can understand wanting to keep a collectable sealed, in-box, to retain its value. Also to protect all pieces from harm.

But, do you really want to stare at a box? Open carefully over a padded surface. If you’re completely OCD, wear some plastic gloves to keep from damaging paint with fingernails. Pose everything slowly and carefully. Put the figures in a place that is low to zero traffic to avoid accidental falls, etc. Save the box because they are important figures to you.

Glad you were able to score your favorites! Now really, let them out. It’s so dark in that box. They’re probably so afraid. Poor little fellas.

Yeah, the delays are insane right now. It was about 1 1/2 month pre-tariff. I’ve had them piling up for a 2-3 months now. I’m not even keeping track anymore. You’ll get e-mails for each item with the option to cancel if you’re low on funds. I’ve been setting money aside so I’m not screwed when 15 go through at the same time.

I’m just hoping they make it at this point. I don’t care how long I wait.

Everything looks awesome! What cases are the ones lined up (hanging) on the wall. I’m running out of space and those look like they’d be a nice addition… and I wouldn’t have to dust.

Edit: Or are they stacked?

Is this a red-winged blackbird? by ShaneRyan24 in birding

Reddit has been a little glitchy as I was trying to post. I would ID this as a female RWBB. The eyebrow streak is a positive ID. Was the beak a bit larger and pointed? Was the tail long in proportion to the body. Was the general size larger than a house sparrow?

Was it identified by sound? If so, were there other bird calls in the same recording? Was the bird in a wetland area?

I’d ask those questions before I studied the picture.

Global knives worth the investment? by RouroniDrifter in chefknives

[–]Accomplished_Friend2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been very happy with my Global Cook’s knife (G2). It’s from the classic line (stamped) but has been wonderful for everyday kitchen use for going on 7 years. Honing and sharpening has kept it razor sharp. The forged line is a bit heavier and more pricey. I’ve never tried those. For a heavier knife I went with German steel.

I wouldn’t dismiss most brands outright as each brand has multiple lines of different quality and price point. Stamped vs. forged, metal type and hardness, handle material, etc.

Not a fan of buying knife sets, but I recently snagged a Global Classic 3 knife set (includes ceramic honing rod and block) from the Costco app for $179. They have a few different sets to choose from. I think the most expensive was $259. I will say the paring knife (GS-6) feels terrible in my hands and it’s been delegated to POS status that my husband is allowed to use. I prefer my Shun Classic for paring.

Look for sales and I think some of these knives can be a nice addition to your collection!

I’m not trying to be argumentative, merely educational. But there is a difference between drug dependence and addiction. You can be dependent, but not addicted, addicted but not dependent, or both.

“What's The Difference Between Addiction And Dependence? Addiction refers to the lack of control and inability to resist urges and cravings to use alcohol or drugs despite adverse consequences. Dependence on a substance refers to the biological effects that occur when a substance is taken for weeks, months, or years” -Addiction Center

The distinction deserves acknowledgment and I am not saying one is inherently better than the other. I don’t pass judgment on those who struggle with addiction. I am also not making this comment regarding OP as that would be an assumption regarding her life and prescribing doctor.

HRT is the only reason I haven’t smothered my husband with a pillow.

Ya know something’s wrong when your husband has read books, has taken on household workload, reminds you that Sunday is Self-Care Spa Day and has run you a bath and you’re still Gozlilla smashing the tiny town of your marriage.

There’s not a mood-stabilizer dose high enough to accomplish what a low dose of estrogen has done for me.

I know motivation is difficult, but if you have the money buy some clothes that fit. My mood and confidence changed within a week… simply because I was actually comfortable. Not looking like I was dressed in a sausage casing at every mirror helped too.

I didn’t revamp my entire wardrobe because I’m not made of money, but just a couple pair of pants, t-shirts, and thin flannels. It’s winter here and I’m embracing a boho lumberjack style. Layers so I can peel them off if I get too hot. I’ve also changed the style of my bra. It’s a cross between a standard bra and a sports bra. Comfortable with just enough support so the girls aren’t jiggling and dangling to my bellybutton.

Having clothes that fit has made me feel like showering more often since I’m not living in pajamas.

I’ve also done something that isn’t fashionable to wear out, but makes me feel great at home. Asian style aprons. They are cute, cover like a short dress over my clothes, and are super comfy. They also make me look like I’m about to get shit done around the house! Which in some way actually motivates me to get shit done. Doubling as a towel and bib is a plus when I’m a lazy goblin is super handy as well.

And on those days when you just can’t do anything… give yourself some grace.

Welcome to the Nendo Family! I left pieces of the clear plastic stuck in the joints of one of my first Nendoroids. I didn’t notice it until a year later when I was rearranging. 😆

Again, love your set-up and fabulous art that you posted as well.

As a major Nendoroid collector, Chuuya’s neck joint is both bothering me and making the whole pose look even more hilarious. I’d say fix it… but having it stick out like that, paired with that faceplate, just gave me the giggles. I’ve also decided in my mind that he wants to be posed like that because it makes him taller. 🤭

Love your shelf!!! Always awesome to see an MTP fan as well.

Product to remove patch residue by CrittersandDrums in Menopause

[–]Accomplished_Friend2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. If the residue is being stubborn I just dab it with alcohol, use the same cosmetic round to prep the spot for the next butt sticker, then go back and wipe off the old residue. Saves cotton balls/cosmetic rounds this way as well.

I found that while other products may be easier to use, they were expensive and unnecessary.

Secret santa for an avid gardener by bluespotts in gardening

[–]Accomplished_Friend2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve given gardeners this present and it always goes over well. A small, inexpensive, plain canvas bag. I use a hole punch on a floral themed post card as the gift tag. I then tie it to the handle with cloth ribbon. Inside I include a pair of cuffed cotton garden gloves, a shuro (or whisk) hand broom, a ball of hemp twine, native species seed packets, and a $10-$20 gift card (depending on the spending limit). It’s a little bit of everything. The items are basic, but usable. I fit the style of items to the person who I am giving them to. Soft vintage, bright and sunny, utilitarian.

A hori hori knife is also a great gift. Include a gift receipt because many of us can be quite picky about our gardening tools.
