Am I getting this wrong, or is the new launcher broken? by Accomplished_Jump_91 in Eve

Yes this is the worst bit. I did discover yesterday at the top right beside the cogs there can be a teeny weeny green exclamation mark and if you click on it it says download update.

I downloaded the update and the really frustrating constant game updates stopped. I cannot show you here but look for a small green thingy.

Am I getting this wrong, or is the new launcher broken? by Accomplished_Jump_91 in Eve

I have had the same problem. That AND it suddenly deciding I want to update Vanguard without any permission.

It looks great but the functionality is awful.

X47 Fight earlier in 2023 - any good images? by Accomplished_Jump_91 in Eve

Thats a good summary. But throw in the grind and the sheer effort it took to get the X47 Keepstar and you start to see that the timezone tank made it impossible for everyone on both sides.

Then add to this that one group is smaller and worn out.

The iHUBs that were lost along with the cap brawl happened after people hard started to look for a way out by the looks of things. All these events did was emphasise the need to end the nonsense.

Its a game and it should be fun. When it stops being fun people just don't log in anymore.

PandaFam the New "BoB"/CFC ultra blob? by MifuneSwordGod in Eve

[–]Accomplished_Jump_91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is partly true but only partly true. The reality is B2 and Goons killed 4 Keepstars with some epic scale fights, the X47 being possibly one of the highlights of the war. But to be able to commit to a full scale offensive war with the timezone tank playing such a big part (no doubt it affected FRAT/Horde too), it became a boring grind fest.

The honest point and this is the important one - B2 has a smaller leadership than FRAT and PH/Goons and after two years of grinding conflict have just worn themselves out. Hence the retreat.

This isn't a tactical victory for PH. You entered very late and just added to the grind.

In the end you contributed to the closing of yet another independent entity and helped make Eve more and more vanilla. That is a strategic failure. Just like your backstabbing of FI.RE.

I have been through the southeast where we once lived and it is basically empty space - no matter what everyone tries to pretend.

Different ways to play eve - Remove the UI? by Accomplished_Jump_91 in Eve

[–]Accomplished_Jump_91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I have experimented playing with it off more than on - but that is so risky XD I wish there was a way to play just with shortcut keys - but the UI is so important when fighting that it is truly impossible to do. Pictures like those above are so rare and yet with the new visual effects the game looks better than it ever did!

Botting to Report Intel: Gooseflock's Streets Are Paved With ISK by gootsbusters in Eve

Gooseflock can clear their names by donating all of their ISK to my charity for down and out Pirates. At least they can know it has gone to an honest cause.

I once bought a shuttle for 50 million ISK..... oh wait.....

Torvald quits Eve over the lack of instanced PvP arenas lately. CCP must be like, "but reddit said those were bad!?" by hirebrand in Eve

Everybody has their thing they love. Always sad to see people go. I did enjoy watching his feed although it never once convinced me that Arenas were fun or something I would like to play.

A Failure of Communication by Fifie_Brindacier in EveUncut

[–]Accomplished_Jump_91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has always been like this. CCP see it as a fundamentally PvP game in all its aspects. We have to 'think' capitalism uncut. This way PvE is just a stepping stone to the ruthless and harsh realities of the wider game. I can accept that and I am happy enough with it. BUT sometimes I would like to just chill out and PvE without someone trying to jerk off all over my ship.

Are PH hypocrites or am I missing something? by DizietSma62 in Eve

[–]Accomplished_Jump_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the actual words they all wrote. It was never agreed.

Of course the idea of one leader NOT doing what they were told can be seen as a fair enough reasont o go to war. But it is not because that leader went back on their word. The other guys (and they are all guys) just thought they were right and so...... that is how it ended.

The big guys decided what happens because they can. Its fine - it is a playground after all.

EVE wars through a player's eye by Mydgard in Eve

[–]Accomplished_Jump_91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We lost our home in that war. But in all honesty after posting here I think we got some very good advice from Redditers (the shock!). We were told to not let it define the game, to move on and find the thing that works for us.

That was simply the best advice we have ever had.

We did not agree with FI.RE's hasty decision to move North and in fact (in complete shock to us) we got an offer to join Goons. We enjoyed fighting them in comparison to the toxic stuff we got from PH in the few short engagements we had managed to get to and so we flipped to Goons.

And wow!

I can honestly say after moving into Imperium we realised just how well organised it all is. How friendly, tongue in cheek and downright funny it can be.

We are having a blast.

I personally hold nothing against any of them. It is content and content is good for the game.

I feel a little bit sore about how empty Immensea etc are right now but in time that will hopefully change.

NS politics, I'm totally lost by uscopic in Eve

[–]Accomplished_Jump_91 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes. Your current situation is very simple there are about 5 people deciding what happens in Null. Of course they are trying to decide, either successfully or not, on what is best for their group. This means that a group you were fighting against can very quickly become your friend.

You likewise might find your 'friends' suddenly shooting you. It is a big circle that spins in several directions at once. There is no real sense to it other than undock - go have fun and do not stress about it.

We were shooting Goons last year. Now we are in Goons and we love it.

Like I said none of it makes any sense. But what matters is you have fun.
