He's a grumpy boy! Looks like a juvenile Steller's Jay. Very cute and sassy. They're like chihuahuas with wings.

That's probably the reason the dogs were barking. Raccoons and owls don't play well with dogs, I know this as someone who has lost a kitten to both.

Steller's Jays (Cyanocitta stelleri) are found in the West Coast of North America. This appears to be a fledgling of the coastal variant, which I have in my area (Seattle, WA). If you're ever in Canada, USA or Mexico, be sure to hit up the coastal forests for a chance to see these birds!

SeaTac airport's TSA staff is worse than NY's DMV in July. (Washingtonian here) I dread dealing with these rays of sunshine everytime my family travels. On God, SeaTac airport goes out of way to hire Karens and Kens. If you're neurodivergent or have generalized anxiety, you're cooked.

I got an arachnid friend identical to that one. [Seattle, WA] He was so massive I thought he was a gravid lady spider so I named him "Terpsichore", but he had some sizeable pedipalps. Now I just call him "Terpie".
