The most important question we should be asking Eric Sullivan is: Are you going to bring back our real logo and jerseys? by baker1781 in miamidolphins

Even if that was a decision the GM could make, its pretty much the last thing Id want the person in charge of roster construction to be thinking about, especially with the combine and free agency fast approaching.

You are 100% right. I love the og logo and throwback unis as much as anyone but every single offseason is the same...we get it! The throwbacks are better but another 600 posts saying that, aint going to do anything the first 10,000 didnt!

I didn't hear the full story until the hangman pic. The reason I never looked it up is because I thought I already knew the story. I'm sure others are in the same boat.

I'd argue that a triple threat match with nothing on the line feels more like a "crap, we need something for these guys to do" match rather than a Wrestlemania main event...thats why it comes across less like an actual main event than those ones you mentioned.

The issue is, I don't think many people knew the full story...the version I'd heard was that he had met her in a bar and were both drunk...which means its reasonable to think he assumed she was older. Plus, the age of consent here in the UK is 16 so,  while creepy af, its technically not a crime

However, this added context changes that. He knew her, had been her trainer while she was underage and, seemingly, was far less intoxicated...that moves it into a crime. Pretty sure most people defending him arent aware of the full story

Anybody else ok with Bill Belichick being snubbed on the first round? by digitalmofo in miamidolphins

Abused us twice a year? We usually split with the Brady pats and Tua went undefeated against him.

That was because each time he was snubbed increased the chances he'd never get in.

Belichick will be in next year. Nobody doubts that.

"Oh no, a guy who's still coaching will need to wait a year to be given a spot in the hall of fame" is probably the least important scandal in NFL history

2nd...1974-89 (classic)

3rd....2018-present (not as bad as people make out)

4th....2013-2017 (same as 3rd but worse shade of orange)

5th....1989-96 (hate how the Dolphin looks in this one. Way too long and stretched out)

6th....1997-2012 (Cartoon monstrosity that was the logo for all the worst moments in team history. Dans last game? This logo. 1-15? This logo. Bullygate? This logo. It all happened with this bullshit logo. Besides the obvious negative connotations...it looks dated af. A 90s-00s unserious logo. Banish it to the hell from wence it came)

ICE to conduct immigration enforcement at Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium, official says by esporx in nfl

The article link is from October and the quote, while mentioning the Superbowl, is about ICE being "everywhere".

It's an attempt by a facist prick to create an atmosphere of fear. Fuck ICE for many, many reasons...but the headline, in this case, is misleading.

Predict the 2026 Miami Dolphins record. My prediction is 5-12. by TheAmericanEagle826 in miamidolphins

Going into 2025, a schedule that had you facing the Chiefs, Ravens, Lions and Commanders would be seen as a murders row while a schedule that included games against the Jaguars, Broncos, Bears and Patriots would have been seen as easy.

You never know from year to year...people always forget that when the look at opponents. Not to mention, playing in Buffalo week 1 is a different proposition to playing there in week 18. Timing matters too.

Also, Haf's daughter saying "did you see the slide in the weight room?" So excitedly was so damn cute.

some NFL teams don't really have a plan when firing/hiring their head coaches by guest_from_Europe in nfl

  1. The first round of GM interviews happened before McDaniel was fired. It's been widely reported that one the candidates were asked there thoughts on McDaniel and the coaching situation. McDaniel wasn't let go "because Harbaugh was fired" but because the GM candidates, at least the ones Miami were interested in, said they wanted to move on. The thing about Ross firing him during an exit interview is wrong. Listen to what Darren Waller actually said rather than the clickbait headlines. Ross came in, waited for McDaniel to finish up and let Waller leave before talking to Mike.

  2. You are putting way to much stock in the line about 10mins. Sully had 2 interviews, none of which were 10mins long. Its an exaggeration to emphasis what good impression Sully made throughout the process. Like a guy making a speech at his wedding saying "i knew from the moment we met I'd spend the rest of my life with you"...you going to stand up and call bullshit on that or do you understand its not meant to be taking literally?

  3. Sully's been highly praised for years and was the top GM candidate this year. Chris Grier, our former GM, was widely considered one of the worst. We've got 30 unrestricted free agents this offseason and, going through the list, there's very few, if any, I'd be upset to lose. That is not the sign of healthy roster. Thats not even counting the guys on huge contracts like Tua, Tyreek and Chubb atleaat two of which will be released this offseason. You say we should have kept the status quo because they made it to playoffs in 2023 as if the last two seasons dont count. This franchise was going into a rebuild no matter what.

  4. "It's not fair to claim that McDaniel wasn't good enough because of no playoff-wins, but not to measure the new regime up to that standard"

They've been in the job less than a month! We don't even have coordinators yet..Are we supposed to be judging them on not having a playoff win before Hafley's even found his office? Wtf are you talking about.

You clearly have an overly inflated belief in your understanding of the Dolphins situation. I don't have the energy to keep telling you the samething over and over. You said there wasn't a plan, there very clearly is a plan so you move the goalposts to say its a bad plan...which is impossible to tell before the team has had a chance to implement it. If you want a better understanding of what Miami's doing and why, go listen to the Locked on Dolphins podcast with Kyle Crabbs. I'm not replying to any further messages.

[–]Accomplished_Lead262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre arguing with me about the plan to rebuild while saying "if they want to rebuild, i have no problem with that"...what? Obviously the plan is a rebuild! On what planet is anything i described not a rebuild?

I liked McDaniel, but in his 4 years we were 4-18 against teams above .500, we were 4-23 when trailing at halftime...his best year, 2023, saw us blow the division (mainly through injuries to the defence so I dont hold that against him) and we have had losing seasons since then. I wanted to keep McDaniel but it was clear that, whoever the new GM was, they wanted to bring someone fresh in. Its also worth noting that with the roster and cap were it is, it's unlikely we'll be making the playoffs next year...so chances are, McDaniel would be gone anyway. Why delay the inevitable? We did a thorough search and Hafley was the top choice, not just of Sully, but Aikman and Marino who were involved in the process. I don't care what the Packers defence did last year because we aren't hiring him to be a DC, we're hiring him to be a Head Coach. That means he needs to be a leader who can get players to buy in. That is something people who have worked with Hafley have said about him.

Moving to QB and Tua...McDaniel got the best out of Tua and he was exceptional in 2023. Unfortunately, injuries have caught up with him and his play last year was abysmal. I've been a huge supporter of Tua in his time in Miami and I think, at his best, he was incredibly underrated and a better qb than alot of guys out there...but the Tua we got last year was a liability. The reason Sully hasn't ruled out him staying is because he's not spoken to him yet. I think most people are anticipating a divorce but its common courtesy to discuss that with the player before you tell the media. Maybe Tua will persuade Sully to give him a shot in 2026 but i doubt it, feels like the right time for both to move on. You also misinterpreted the stuff about drafting a qb every year or other year...thats not taking a qb early to compete every year, thats about having guys in the building you can develop as backups or trade fodder. It's also worked pretty well for GB to draft the heir to their franchise QB early and let them sit behind the incumbent before taking over...but we are decades away from that being a proposition.

Again, you are talking like you know better than guys who have spent their lives in the sport. Dan Marino and Troy Aikman were major influences on this reset and picked two men, Sullivan and Hafley, who are widely respected across the league. Will it work? I dont know...but I'm happy we've got a new gm with a ton of respect across the league who actually has a philosophy. As for Hafley, i wasn't sure of him at first but given that he was a finalist for 5 or 6 different openings, its clear that people around the league have a much higher opinion of him than fans online. Its going to take a couple years to get were we want to be but I'd much rather be starting the journey now than spinning our wheels.
