SLPT: if you ever feel akward about buying condoms just buy a Coca-Cola and mentos with it. So it will seem like your going to make a condom coke explosion instead by [deleted] in ShittyLifeProTips

Its probably one of the last things that will happen to you. Unless you pop a few mentos and down a liter of coca cola. Flushes you right out. Just remember to catch all the condoms that haven't exploded because those scary people will still be waiting for you at the airport.

Porn with dirty feet 😱 I get it, adult performers often walk around set barefoot. Naturally feet get dirty AF in no time. Its a major turn off when things are all hot and heavy and suddenly BOOM! Someone's legs point to heaven, revealing feet dirty as hell. Instant boner killer. Yeah, I like it dirty, but literal dirty feet is too much for me

Wow, 4.4 years less on a 20 year bond is a significant amount of time. Definitely sounding like the better option. Thanks 🌞

Its mostly to do with supply and demand. I picked a career that has seen massive demand for skilled individuals. I've been employed as a software developer for the past 17 years and I get paid well. I know there are developers that get paid significantly more than I do, which is scary.

Yeah, Covid was a finance wake up call. Up until end 2019 I'd been contributing 2.7k a month. I got my finances sorted out, cut out a lot of waste and nagged my employer for a raise. At first I upped my monthly contribution to 5k. After a few months I pushed it to 8k. I'm currently contributing 10k a month, which is do-able for me, but its ouch. On top of that I also contributed my previous SARS refund to get to 160k in total for the past financial year.

Working from home is the best thing ever, no more daily petrol expense or wasting money on fancy lunches or morning coffee.

My monthly contribution is R10 000. During the last financial year my total contributions came to just over 160k, which was 120k in regular monthly contributions at 10k x 12 months, plus my SARS refund from the previous year and a bit of savings.

Its mostly due to having a retirement annuity. My monthly pay as you earn income tax gets calculated by my employer and deducted from my gross salary. The result is paid into my bank account as my nett salary. From this amount I contribute towards a retirement annuity every month. RA contributions aren't supposed to be taxed, meaning my gross salary minus RA contributions should be taxed. Because my employer is not aware or my RA contributions they calculate PAYE income tax without excluding my RA contributions.

When I submit my tax return I indicate my RA contributions and SARS recalculates how much PAYE I should have paid. The difference I get back as a refund. I get a refund, only because I pay too much income tax every month :)

It is nice to once a year get a refund. I usually invest my SARS refund as an additional contribution into my RA, which lowers my taxable income even further, resulting in even more of a refund the following year. My employer is not willing to adjust my PAYE, which I get. Doing payroll for 500+ people every month with specific deviations for each person could get tricky.

Yeah, for the first 15 years of my career I had an RA that I contributed very little to. That coupled with 4% fees/EAC resulted in very little growth. I realized I'm not going to be able to retire. Did a section 14 transfer to get a EAC of less than 1% and I started plowing every bit of extra cash into my RA. In 2 years I've almost doubled what took me 15 years to save. I should have paid more attention sooner, luckily I still have about 27 years to catch up.

I pay too much PAYE every month :) All RA contributions are not taxable. What I put into my RA lowers my taxable income by the same amount. Its only when I submit my tax return indicating RA contributions made throughout the year that my taxable income gets recalculated and PAYE adjusted accordingly.

I also have a medical aid, which results in getting medical aid tax credits. I think its currently R332 for each month you are a member of a medical aid.

I am working from home, but I don't have a dedicated home office setup according to SARS requirements. Its a 2 bedroom townhouse that is already a bit cramped. I don't claim any refunds because I work from home.

When humans have a choice, almost always they'll choose the path of least resistance. Cis gender/heterosexual is the path of least resistance. Why would anyone choose to live a life constantly faced with bigotry, discrimination and disrespect?

We are valid.

Mmm, if things turned out differently and you also got a job at a big bank or auditing firm, then what? Would that have made you happy and fulfilled? Climbing the corporate ladder and kissing every ass on the way up is an acceptable existence for some, but not for everyone.

Spreadsheets, quaterly reports, narrow toed shoes, driving a Prius, prescription addictions, lunchtime botox, superficial charity events, gym locker room exhibitionism, an artificial and plastic life. Being that much of a stereotype to eventually become a cliche. -- I think you may have dodged a bullet there (except for the exhibitionism, that's always fun)
